My family and I have been renting for 3 years in Las Vegas paying our rent on time and the owner is not paying their mortgage and the bank forclosed this has happened 3 times. We had to go through background checks and financial checks but the owner does not we had to pay for the utilities the be hooked up again and moving company to move again we have to pay for this and none of our deposit is returned to us and it has cost us a lot of money. For another example of free market collapse, look at the great depression. It went on for 12 years because the government didn't bail out the economy with enough money until WWII. Also the unemployment went up to 3.9 after the war, so the main boom time was during the war.

I had a mortgage broker try every trick in the book to get me to buy a house with a variable rate loan. He told me the interest rate wouldn't go up, and buy the time it ever did, I would have saved 10's of thousands of dollars, and could just refinance the house.

Luckily I got a fixed rate loan, so I still have my house. I don't believe people who got suckered by a mortgage broker should be called irresponsible so they are getting what they deserve.

Actually, what the constitution says about gold and silver, is that the states will not create any method for the payment of debts public and private other than gold and silver. This is to prevent the states from issuing seperate forms of currencies, while allowing them to continue to use gold and silver for their state treasuries. THe Federal Reserve is an illegal organization. Article 1 Section 0 of the Constitution says only gold and silver shall be legal tender. I see no amendment changing that. So where did Congress get the authority to pass the responsibility to "coin money and regulate the value thereof" over to the Fed? There isn't one. As long as we allow a criminal system, we invite disaster.

If you'll notice, it also says no STATE shall do any of those things, meaning the individual states can't coin their own money, it says nothing about the Federal government driving monetary policy.

And FYI, congress has the authority to make bills and laws, and pass amendments to the constitution. Hence the Federal Reserve Act of 1913.
