Don't get it. I enjoy riding the U.S Hill Country. When you have to ride at 15 to 20 mph it's not a ride. Sorry I love the back roads and country side here in he USA.
carl's right. try googling around a bit, the truth shall be revealed. get rid of this stupid habit of questioning anything that seems 'unpatriotic'. cheers.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but the Khardung-La is not the highest motorable road in the world. The highest is the mining road behind Laguna Blanca in Bolivia at 6,002 meters. Khardung-La is 5,359 meters. Don't believe that stupid yellow sign on top of the Pass proclaiming it to be 5,682.
How do I know this? I cycled both. The Khardung-La Pass uses this so-called highest road as a tourist marketing tool. Hardly anybody goes up Laguna Blanca except for mine workers, and I'm sure they don't care one way or the other it's the highest. They're too busy trying to make eek out a living.
but, I have this bad habit of not believing something unless it is backed by some solid proof to prove this identity. It is not easy for me to believe on ur comment just becuase you have cycled both roads. I'll be more than happy if you can provide some proof to support your comment.
In the last week, have seen this video thousands of time. It creates something inside me. BCMT Rocks!!
