They didn't edit out "shut the fuck up," it's the same exact vocal part taken from the bridge of the song, David Kahne (the guy who mixed Plaster) decided to chop up that vocal sample and stick it at the beginning of the song. According to Mike Shinoda himself, Plaster/One Step Closer was only recorded once by the band, so Chester never sang "shut the fuck up."
