@Snipe3k Hey there! What exactly do you mean by 'input lag?' We ran that question by our insiders at BenQ, and they asked for a little more clarification.
@ProjectorPeople , Input lag is the response time in milliseconds. For example, how long it will take from when you press the button on a video game controller to when you will see the result of pressing that button on the screen. I heard somewhere that the response time of the w6000 is about 65ms, which is pretty slow, some projectors are twice as fast. Input lag is really only important to gamers.
@Snipe3k Hey there! Sorry for the delayed response. We talked to the folks at BenQ who said that the amount of variables involved (cable, power fluctuations, length and quality of cable, controller, system ram, etc) made it impossible to determine the projector's response time.
They're looking to see if they can find out more. We will of course keep you posted!
@ProjectorPeople , I don't seem to be allowed to post the link, but there is a thread on avsforum.com called "Input Lag of various projectors" that will show you how to take input lag measurements.
In every head to head...I still like the Pt-AE4000 and own it. Just because it's sub 2000 and the PT-AE3000 still sells for more than it used!!!?? (not as good obviously) it gets downgraded. If the 4000 was 3500$ it would be praised more. What a great product panasonic makes!
I'm looking to purchase a good projector for HD PC and Console (Xbox360 & Wii) gaming. Is there any noticeable input lag between the AE4000U and the CF181D? Which would you recommend for the avid videogamer? (I play FPS like Halo, RTS like Warcraft, and RPG like World of Warcraft or Morrowind or the Diablo series most)
Hey The Tols. Good question. We haven't put the two head-to-head in a gaming showdown....yet. But let's deduce from what we know. At 120 hz, both are great projectors for gaming. The LG might be a teeny bit better. It has a sharper image and at 1800 lumens (vs the AE4000U's 1600,) will provide a brighter picture if you game with the lights on. I can't post links, but our site, as well as projectorcentral have articles on gaming projectors, if you feel like searching. (Or DM me for links.)
Whats the input lag on the BenQ w6000? I cant find that information anywhere.
