The way the blue and white acrylics mix together in the window is beautiful! I love your idea of using a spiral to represent death which a bunch of universal things like the heart for love to represent the person's life going into the spiral with them. The metaphor is simple but elegant.
Death is one of those things people will never fully understand and really want to. My first death experience I was 4 when my grandmother passed and not long after when I was 9, my mother. Amazing painting.
I first experienced the effects of death when I was about six or seven, my mom's grandfather died, and people always cried. I never really knew him, but when people talk about him, they always look sad.
Since then, a couple other family members have died, as well, ones closer to my heart than my Great Grandfather, and it always feels unhappy for awhile. But then we feel as though they have gone to a better place.
Amazing paintings <3 I love how you explain what the paintings meanings(:
its somewhat touched me, since I've had two loved ones (atlease the ones I've seen and experienced) pass away.. still today I wonder where they are.. or even what they are..
I've had many experiences with death. Each death always felt like the first one. If it's someone close to you - say, a family member - their death seems to leave an empty void in your heart. There will always be an emptiness, but wrapped around it will be the memories that you cherish, if you're lucky enough to have such memories.
i learned about death a few years ago when the one who died was a childhood friend ever since i as a little kid about the age i met him was 6 and I'm 14 now..... and that's 10 years so i was in tears when i found out he died .... (btw I'm a guy) but buy the time the funeral came i was the only one not crying.... (trust me i didn't cry ...) i didn't even knew what death even was till that day came ..... i died a little inside knowing i just lost a childhood friend.
I love your painting! It makes me think of something Tim Burton would do (that is my HIGHEST complement!), cuz there is darkness, but hope, and an understanding that we understand pretty much nothing about many things.
Ist das Val feisty again? i heard she lost someone. When she was in blogtv i thought she was grazy, or i heard wrong, propably did. Suddenly she looked in my tired eyes like harsh "red queen" saying all the way caramel in his mouth, making faces, "i know" and "why not" xD
VAL! I love this painting! It's one of my favorites! And i'm really sorry about your loss a really good friend of mine's father passed away recently =[
P.S. I miss the old music!!!! I loved your up tune italian jingles :D What happend?
From what I understand when a Black Hole sucks in enough matter it emits particles called "Hawkings" named for the scientist who discovered it. According to this I doubt Black Holes lead to another dimension.
Not many people subscribe to this concept. I believe death is not the end, but transformation into a new life; eternity. Each one of us has a soul and a spirit that doesn't die. Where you go depends on how you believe. I won't venture any further except to say that our experiences, even the death of loved ones, serve to give our lives meaning in life and the ability to help others in our journey. Peace and love.
This is a very emotional video for me to watch because my little brother died 2 months ago and he was an artist too. Don't think I will ever believe or got used to the fact that he is gone.
i died..... the doctors said i was dead, i was on monitors they said i was dead, why cant people understand we die and thats it? i am still alive and have MEMORY work it out einstein!
very nice, maybe you will regret saying that one day...a stroke could happen to you and you wont know a thing about it,i was very lucky. maybe you or a family member will have one and not be so lucky! karma can bite you in the ass.
I don't give a f*ck what you say. You're obviously an extremely rude person who doesn't give a sh*t about having respect for anyone else, so why should I for you? Yeah, I don't have any sympathy for ya. Out of respect for Val though, I'm ending this.
you are the rude one here..i have not sworn at you have I? dont need your sympathy. you will get whats coming to you..all you have done is make yourself look very stupid! thanks for the laugh : )
hi val, you know, life is energy, never leaving, only transferring form. Although our body ceases to exist ,our energy, our spirit will not. Life live, love life and create.
That is way we're here, yes ? Just "Be" and give :]
The way I interpret the painting is that we're living in a reality we can't even perceive, let alone understand. It's formless and colorless and seems to have us going in circles. What we see is a very different image through a very narrow window. Our perception of reality is just a tiny abstract view, filtered out of all of the truth, and packed for our limited senses and cognitive abilities to grasp. To me it's like trying to see the world by looking through a microscope.
I should correct myself in saying we feel like we're going in circles but, just like moving into a vortex, we're moving in circles and moving forward at the same time. But forward into what? That's a big question.
I believe death is a transition, because I believe that humans have two distinct natures, a physical and a spiritual nature. The spiritual nature occupies its own reality and lives after the body. I thought I'd add this part because of the question you posed in your description.
i can see what you mean about the symbol of your painting.....it is absolutely beautiful what you have made there! Makes me think about a dream world..often people worry too much about death and staying young that they don't focus on living...death is another window we must all look through when we lose some one close to us and then go through ourselves one day. i think you have captured that remarkably well here! peace and blessings to you! :-)
Death is unexplainable. Death can be a one giant dark cloud that will never part, a series of bright vibrant colors, or maybe nothing at all. I just get scared thinking about it.
i hate to think about dying..i only wonder about the feeling of death, like when your soul is actually leaving your body. does it hurt? does it tickle? i dunno, im not dead yet. im glad you did this video, it makes me think a bit more. and a bit less.
I love your videos, everything you make looks gorgeous! It makes me want to grab some paint and see what comes out! Of course I put that notion away since I'm not very good but it's the thought that counts. As for the doll, I think it'd be funny to do Natalie frrom communitychannel on youtuber. She's really funny and always saying how akward she looks so I think she might get a kick out of the doll.
;p

I hope you are doing better these days, Val. I know what it is like to lose someone you were close to. Strangely, I am not afraid of dying but I hate when other people die. As I've gotten older I have seen many loved ones pass on. I miss so many of them now. All I can say is spend your time with loved ones now, before they are gone.

I first experienced death when I was 7 yrs old. My grandmother died. I didn't understnad....but a year latr I was watching Rosie O'Donnell's Kids Are Punny and she made a joke about cancer...I ran to my room and broke down and cried. DEATH be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadfull, for, thou art not so,
For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow,
Die not, poore death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleepe, which but thy pictures bee,
Much pleasure, then from thee, much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee doe goe,
Rest of their bones, and soules deliverie.
