Thanks for doing this one! I've loved it since I first heard it...every time I hear this song and get to the end...Mahalia pops into my head singing Nearer My God to Thee...so it's like a two for one! :) Keep up the great work!
Fine job! You may be interested in a very funny parody of this tune by Dave van Ronk named "Georgie on the IRT" which refers to New York City's rapid transit system. He recorded on one of his very early albums.
Wow, I really like your version! I opened another tab while listening, and kept thinking I was actually listening to Jimmie Rodgers. It is a Jimmie Rodgers tune, right? Love your work, Mr. Jones.
Thanks for your wonderful playing and singing of this song. I first heard it by June Carter when she was 10 years old. I love the treatment that you give to the old "Carter songs".
Old American Folk Songs seem to be almost all that's left to remind us of what a huge role the trains played in the America of our ancestors. Thanks for introducing me to one i've not heard before! —Ken

Sound a little bit like Bob Dylan. I would suggest backing up from the camera a little bit or something, though. There's a little distortion.
