My personal interpretation to add to the pool; They reflect on the good an bad moments of their work and then they head off to do their job, cos in the end it's not really about killing, war, murder, slaughter or even about dying, it's a job, it can be grimey, dirty and vile, there's good and bad moments, lot of friends and foes, someone has to do it, and sometimes you like the job, sometimes you don't, that's the thing when you do your job.

The men mention in several points in the series how they actual looked forward and later enjoyed fighting & killing, hence "generation kill". But the memories weren't all great or fun or noble. Maybe upon reflection, they realized that though together as a company, they would have to deal with their conscience alone.

beautiful ending to a powerful series. Though the entire show was only 7 episodes it feels so much longer. HBO truly knows how to pull off amazing realistic shows such as this one.
watching this prepares you for war in a sense cant wait to go over seas but also dont want to lose that spark you get in life, that your parents see in your eyes, in the end you only get one spark and once that's lost your just a lost sole......

the pacific theater of ops has a level of animosty and intensity that few can grasp. Games and movies about the PTO are never as popular as the ones about the European war....

@silentsometimes you should read the book the term "generation kill" refers to a generation of young men that grew up playing violent video games and watching violent films so naturally when the grew up they wanted to join the military and act out the games and movies they grew up with. eventually most of us figured out that what we grew up with was nothing like real war. the last man standing represents what bombarding our children with violence does to his brain

@DimebagDave120804 - if you have to ask, you wouldn't understand. But it was a build up of emotion that spilled over in a game. Rudy and the other jock/fit/quarter-back-looking dudes were dominating. Ray clearly is not a jock and as he said, people like that have been picking on him all his life. He found himself in a situation where they were equals but divide was clearly still there....and he lost it. It was one of the best scenes in the series, along with this one.

out of all the people I disliked in this was 'Whopper Jr' There were so many times I would have taken his gun, emptied it, put one round in the chamber and said, use it wisely. No offense to anyone in the Corps.
This was probably the most powerful part of the series, first time I watched it, it made my eyes water. It tells the story of every war, the camaraderie, the sadness on their faces as they remember the horrible sights they've seen, yet they remain macho through it all. There is really no more admirable person than the combat veteran. They've seen despair, they've been in a world that wouldn't make sense to any of us civilians, and they soldier through it all. Hats off to all you veterans.

I watched the last episode of Generation Kill about an hour ago. Now I´m watching the ending again. It´s a brilliant ending, and one of my favourite scenes next to Iceman´s airplane impersonation.
Hat´s down to all the actors who managed to convey those emotions.

What I get out of it iss pretty much the same as whargarbl. You don't really see it all in the heat of battle, but on reflection it's a pretty tough pill to swallow. It shows even some of our most fiercest fighting men (Recon Marines) are human. I thought it was a great way to end the show.

@DimebagDave120804 - if you have to ask, you wouldn't understand. But it was a build up of emotion that spilled over in a game. Rudy and the other jock/fit/quarter-back-looking dudes were dominating. Ray clearly is not a jock and as he said, people like that have been picking on him all his life. He found himself in a situation where they were equals but divide was clearly still there....and he lost it. It was one of the best scenes in the series, along with this one.

This was probably the most powerful part of the series, first time I watched it, it made my eyes water. It tells the story of every war, the camaraderie, the sadness on their faces as they remember the horrible sights they've seen, yet they remain macho through it all. There is really no more admirable person than the combat veteran. They've seen despair, they've been in a world that wouldn't make sense to any of us civilians, and they soldier through it all. Hats off to all you veterans.

@ghostbuster687 That is except for Trombley. He is in fact the face of "Generation Kill" Great ending. Truly shows what the title of the series (and book) meant. All the young guys are coming into the Corps totally desensitized to violence whereas the older guys (Brad, Nate, Ray) have a "work" meantality. The generation of "Trombleys" do not care or feel remorse for killing. Like they say many times in the series, Iraq is not like Afghanistan.

I watched the last episode of Generation Kill about an hour ago. Now I´m watching the ending again. It´s a brilliant ending, and one of my favourite scenes next to Iceman´s airplane impersonation.
Hat´s down to all the actors who managed to convey those emotions.
Johnny Cash makes the ending all the more awesome.

mmm how sexy are the US army. They do look good in a uniform. Loved this show I had to record it becasue it was about 1am in the UK but i used to watch it on a saturday night. I do love a man in a uniform since i first saw Tom Cruise in the "whites" in Top Gun. I want my future husband to do the scene from "An officer and a gentlemen". @ShaggydogJV During this time Britain was also at war with the Vatican after we disolved the catholic ruling in Britain. The pope ordered many countries to attack us this included Spain,France,Italy which are all near to us. 1/3 of the British army was sent to defend the battile in the US (it took monthes to travel, we had military in canada). Britain took the decision to protect the island from near enemy.

Also if the US attack any commonwealth country Britan will defend it. When the queen gets coronated she pledge to look after all the commonwealth so even if u r allies but u attack Canada we will defend Canada or the queen can be decrowned, put down the marvel comic & pick up a history book.

What I get out of it iss pretty much the same as whargarbl. You don't really see it all in the heat of battle, but on reflection it's a pretty tough pill to swallow. It shows even some of our most fiercest fighting men (Recon Marines) are human. I thought it was a great way to end the show.
