great! i am a student at newark guitar making school, and we have the anual guitar race...the challenge of making a classical in 24 hours using no power tools! there are about 5 in a team though. great fun!
Bravo!!! Boy, this video kind of makes me wish I had more time on my hands so I could keep building more insturments. I have 25 builds under my belt, but times are hard and just don't have time to do what I love. I recently finish my last 2 guitars (build at the same time) and should be posting a video of it soon. They will probably be my last two for a good while, feel free to check it out if you have time. I should post it very soon. Thanks for sharing your work, er... your students work!
@OBrienGuitars It works fine. At the Guild of American Luthier's convention this year, Jim Hamm did a seminar on his vacuum lamination using hide glue. He also did a talk on why hide glue is the superior glue for nearly every lutherie application and how assembly/disassembly can be simplified and accelerated using a steam gun (he did a demo on a cello top, attaching it with hide glue in under two minutes, total time, single-handedly).
Was hide glue used when gluing the the bridge with the vacuum clamp? I just ask as there is a bit of a dispute going on saying that it takes the moisture out too quickly and doesn't cure correctly. Is that right, or is it viable to use a vacuum clamp with hide glue?
I'm starting a course similar to this on Monday, for 10 days, I'm looking forward to it a lot, its nice to see some stuff that goes into building guitars, I'm hoping i can do it for a living one day .
Beautiful guitar. I wish I had that kind of mula to drop on a new classical at the moment!

@leifericson923 This is a guitar version of the Canon in D by Johann Pachelbel (1653-1706) - quite popularly played at weddings...

Yellow glue was used. I have never used hide glue with a vacuum so I don't know about any issues associated with hide glue and a vacuum.
