  • 0:37 A little too fast, I think...

  • @MarcheseCadmio88 I think no ;-)

  • Very nice execution! strange.... The Argerich usually combines any crap, keep not never the time, but in this performance is Ok. Lilya Zilberstein instead played always (almost) all very well! Maybe a bit too gestural.......

  • Спасибо большое! Я так люблю слушать такую песню. Как-то, это магия для меня и также играется так хорошо с друзьями. Звучит грустно, насильственно, гигантско и тоже прекрасно.

  • This is just soooooo beautiful! I'm speachless...

It is just tradition, when we play chamber music we play with the parts and when we play solo pieces or concertos, it should be played without, but actually I think it doesn't matter. Of course most of the time we know or parts by heart.

  • i want to go inside marthas head and figure out how she interprets music soooooo sooo well. I don't think that would be enough for a normal person like me though

  • regardless of what "sheet of paper" you put in front of martha, she is going to play it with more feeling and passion than could the entire human race

  • rubinstein told us make music is to transmit emotions to those who listen.... Martha Argerich is one of those who did this all her life

  • it's weird that they dont know the piece by heart...

how can you concentrate on feelings if you're depending on a sheet of paper to get the notes right?

  • They probably know the piece by heart, but in the scores of each pianist there are the two piano parts. Martha needs to adjust her playing to Lilya's, and vice versa. And for that, the scores are useful.

  • @nepenthes1313 Les larmes is chamber music which typically is played from the musical score.

  • @appline06 Yo-Yo-Ma once said he only practiced a piece 5 times before a concert. "to keep it fresh." It's possible that they didn't practice the piece to the point that it became old, they only practiced until they could play all the notes with musicality regardless of sheet music in front of them or not.

Also, since it's a piano duet, you have to know what the other person is doing. There is no communication if you don't know what the other person's notes are.

  • too much hand moving

  • Increible, soy nuevo en el mundo del piano, pero me apasiona desde niño, y esto es la perfección, muy inspirador!!. y martha Argerich junto a Lilya Zilberstein ...maravillosas. Desde Argentina, felicitaciones.-

  • (sorry for my english) I have the version of Ashkenazy & Previn but i prefer SO MUCH this interpretation of Argerich & Zilberstein. The speed is PERFECT!!!

  • There is nothing wrong with your English, I agree about the two versions (I also have the Vlad and Andre) - and I love your name - esthetichaos!

  • I find it a bit fast to get just the right emotion out.

But music is so subjective that I may just not be listening right.

  • Music is subjective whether or not one listens correctly.

I'm sure your listening is fine; you're just having a different opinion than others. :~)

  • Two amazing pianist playing together. Wonderfull music and the way they play it... This is what music is about.

  • exactly!!

  • Zilberstein's left hand movements at the begining are so annoying!!

  • A little excessive for the one note being played.

  • hasty. :( but still good

  • Thank you for this wonderful video with two great woman of piano!!

  • It's nice, but I find it too fast.

  • MORE VIDEOS OF ZILBERSTEIN, PLEASE!! She is a fabulous pianist, a perfect match for Argerich! I love her!
