Maybe I'm misunderstanding something about H.D., as I'm pretty new to it. Well, new to uploading it anyway, have had the SR12 for a while now (love it by the way!), but all I did with my one and only upload was load the mt2s file directly onto youtube...no edtiing at all...seemed to work?? It loaded as HD etc., and looks pretty close to the original. I'm going to load more soon, but this one was basic....unless as I say, I'm misunderstanding something, or have lost way more detail than I think.
can you tell me how you got the HD footage to look so good after editing, exporting, and uploading.... i'm working with the same camera, and i'm having tons of trouble with keeping good HD quality after exporting from final cut pro, then uploading to youtube... how did you do it? thanks!
You can't get a new one anymore (at least not on the 'official' Sony distributors. This model is discontinued (and any other member of the SR family) and has been replaced by the XR series.
Only the SR11 and SR12 models VionVid... they're now only shipping the newer models (HDR-XR100 and XR200 if I'm not mistaken) They've added a few things but also taken a few others; personally, I like the older models best.
@DrtyWrm Back then it was the XR200, which I can't seem to be able to find on sale anymore, so the closest one from the XR family that I can see on retail right now is the XR500V...
I got mine around Christmas, I think I paid around what you did canadian, came with a promotion carrying case and extra battery. I got a used model, but it turned out they gave me a bran new one! (someone messed up, I got lucky) great camera, I will be adding more videos myself.

I have a great fluid head tripod, most the video was super smooth. The HD footage is to high quality for smooth playback on my computer. So i could not see the clips good enough find the good parts of each video. And i was to lazy to render it multiple time to get the best one, ha. Glad you like it the camera is superrrrrrr nice
the footage looks great!! do you have any filters or adapters on it? or is this just the camera as is out of the box?
