  • Can you use this as a DNS Server?

  • @macprorocks yes you can, under the hood its a Windows 2003 Server

  • Awesome Thanks

  • i'm upgrading a computer i'm not using to run WHS for christmas. i don't have the budget for HP's one, and i don't want it to run headlessly (i'd rather it have a actual monitor so i don't have to log on to it to make sure everything's going well with it). At least, that's my current plan. plans could change.

oh yeah, the computer to be put up to the test is a HP pavilion Slimline S7600n that i'll upgrade to 2GB RAM and give a 2TB external drive to.

  • @poopskinTheLiar i might just end up getting a 490 though.

  • Cheers for this video helped me a lot...

  • can you use it to download stuff?

  • can u use this to host websites?

  • yes you can

  • wait you can host a website with this? hmmm... then how would you set that up? would you need to know html and stuff like that? i know that is a lot to explain so you dont really have to reply.

  • You're supposed to actually read the EULA!!

  • Yeah! But Can I Set The Pc To Run The Aplication Always. Means Can I Run THE PROGRAM I Want On The Server (Remotely)

  • Can This Pc Server Use Aplications Like DB's And Programs Or DOS And Cmd's Directly Or Remotly. Just Answer Me Can This Pc Run Programs

  • its basically a headless windows 2003 server so you can install application but can only access then via remote desktop

  • Join Youtube Partner You Got Great Video Thinking of making my own home server

  • Nice vids man, I was curious if you have these videos on a website that I could download that are much clearer. I'd like to see all the details of the install, my vision is blurry a bit sometimes.

    Thanks.

  • Heh, I noticed your shirt straight away and it makes sense you named your machine Lewis.

I'm opting for Kimi when the time comes. :)

Nice video bud, thanks for the insight.

    Cheers

  • good spot!

I hope have we have a good F1 season

  • Would you reccomend the MediaSmart? i'm considering setting up a home network...

  • either the mediasmart or an Xbox 360. The 360 is a bit noisier but can do more

  • Eh, my X360 has been redringing since late summer vacation. (HOW HAVE I NOT FOUND TIME TO SENT IT IN YET?!?!)

Also, i'd rather have my data dumping trusted to a actual computer and not a console. (besides, i have been known to use more than 100GB+ of space. my X360 only has 20gb ((i think)) available to it.)

  • very good video - not sure about the website though - why don't you reduce the amount of videos on one page - my browser froze trying to load them all.

  • Great vid mate. Wish I could afford one of these right now. There's always christmas ;-)

  • great videos

  • You can use the WinTV software with XP but the best way is to use Windows Media Center with Vista

  • Do you have to have vista to run it?

  • great video

Im thinking about getting one or just building my own.
