  • What more can we expect from a bunch of men who often wear dresses? I hope they enjoyed watching the reception this killer got upon his return. A real hero's welcome. Well, the Scot's have a right to their own values I suppose. But I do hope the US makes them feel it where it hurts the most. I hope they enjoy their oil. It cost them their dignity.

  • Why don't those who seek vengance against Mohamed al-Megrahi seek the same for the captain of the USS Vincennes, that attacked Iran Air Flight 655 in 1988 killing 290 passengers? No one has been prosecuted for that illegal act of mass murder.

  • the mans innocent so whats the problem ... in scotland we tend to release innocents wrongly convicted whereas the americans tend to just execute the innocents.

to hell with us - scottish relations we are better off without them and their retarded views on the world.

  • totally agree with you and us english stand rite by you. Fuck them.

  • US oil corporations: Exxon, Conoco Phillips, Hess, Marathon are in Libya. Exxon alone is committed to invest $97M with a signature bonus of $72M. It will also pay $25M for Libyans' training/scholarships and $3M to schools.

BP oil (UK Westminster) are also pals with Libya again. aint' it great that they're all buddies?

  • The decision (rightly or wrongly depending on your own statutes) was made as a point of Scottish law.

As a Scot, I do apologise for the many instances we have stuck our noses into U.S. law.

I also apologise to the U.S for us having sent Scottish battalions to Iraq and their continuance in Afghanistan.

How dare we have our own laws and statutes that don't run in accordance to the U.S ...........it's shameful.

  • thats nice

  • Returning him is fine, only they should have beheaded him first (and triumphantly posted a video of it on the internet).

  • The US and Scotland (along with the UK) can never be separated, the American people love them too much!

  • Boycott British Goods??

Maybe they should Boycott British Soldiers so we can Bring them home?

  • Shame. Americans have generally been close to the Scots. But now we feel stabbed in the back, by a friend no less. Boycotts generally are not effective. But lately a few have been. Ask Glenn Beck. I find this action so reprehensible, that I will not send any money to Scotland. And encourage all I know to do the same. Its already on facebook and twitter. Let's see how viral it gets.

  • Scotland/Britain have improved relations with not just libya but other eastern countries which has been counter terroristic completely opposite to what the American bully believes. This Boycott will only have negative effects. I still believe the bomber was let off way to lightly and should pay for the 270 lives he lost but some people have went way to far with it.

please reply to this comment. X

  • Also I think Kenny is a soft nutjob wtf was he thinking when letting him go im sure he has better things to do with his time than release god damned terrorists.

  • I agree with you! Sadly the British diplomacy is working for Royal and bussiness interest than for the proudness of the British society. With this liberation, Lybia wins.

  • As an American that agrees with European sensibilities a GOOD deal of the time, what the HELL was this nut thinking, releasing a convicted terrorist that killed so many innocent people?!?

They should have let that sick bastard ROT to death in jail!

They should deport that bastard Scottish politician too, stick him in Libya, he will be a hero to the twisted people that think the terrorist is a hero!

    DAMN YOU Kenny MacAskill !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • take it easy - ol geezer

just pour yourself a good, stiff glass of Scotch whiskey

    & relax

    BTW - Kenny MacAskill

good to see a Scotsman stand up to the US bully

we've had more than enough of another Scotsman - Bush's poodle, Blair

  • Easy Tiger. It's the law in Scotland that you get out of jail if you're terminally ill within 3 months of death - now you can either have a defined law or you can just have politicians making one up based on whatever suits them best at the time.

I don't know at what point the US realised this, but it was agreed he'd be tried under scots law back in the 90s. There was always a chance this situation might arise.

  • I think the US has bigger problems to deal with than cutting their imports and any profits they provide.

Find some real news to report.

  • I'm sorry but there is no way this creates a significant U.S. boycott of Scottish goods. That's just shock doctrine used by political opponents.

While it is laughingly hypocritical that our government officials criticize another government on grounds that this decision was oil-based, the criticism in this case is justified.
