Buddhism ( also Buddha) accept that God is exist, but Buddhists didn't worship God. They worship Buddhas ( many Buddha). why? Is that backward of Buddhism?
In Buddha history told that When Buddha didn't want teach people, God appeared telling him teaching people. Those mention that God knew Buddha thought, God knew the future, God knew everything. Why do Buddhists reject God to worship a human prince Buddha?
I respect Buddhism, when you listen to it ya mind will cool down in few seconds and if you went to a temple it will relax you within seconds because its so calm down.

This is no prayer in the christian or any other religion sense. These people are paying homage to the buddha's qualities, in a way to remember and emulate them. Maybe some people may worship him as a god, sometimes common people, with lack of knowledge on buddhist teachings. Some buddhist traditions have a great number of rituals, sometimes very complicated. If you go for exemple to a korean temple you will see people doing prostrations many times for long hours, for exemple.
There are many kind of people in this world. The Buddhists that you heard of probably are fools. True Buddhists do not pray, do not cling, do not fight for this right or that right. They see the world as they really are. They strive to change within but not the world. They walk the path that the Buddha had laid down. That is to eradicate Greed, Hatred and Delusion and finally attain enlightenment. May all be well and happy.
the budist have a god,but god is prisoner of the circle of life,the budha which mean the enlighten one show use a way to break that circle,and become enlightnee ourselfs,which put god only in second position,while in the christainity god is the master piece with jesus and mary,do forget that the church as lots of roots in the druidism,one of the most popular piece is the altar which itis not from the church but from the druid in ireland try to seek st patrick story that will explain it
