  • know for a fact that if done correctly on the right system, this should have worked, I work with systems that can cook a damn turkey, this is a pathetic mistake on the mythbusters' part. . .

and by the way the parabolic dish does not "spread out the RF" it actually focuses it into a tighter more direct beam, problem is that tight, direct beam transmits at an upward angle from the dish, they set in near the bottom of the feed horn. . . where there would be almost NO signal being sent. . . FAIL

  • I KNOW YOLI!!!!!!!!!! SHE IS PART OF MY FAMILY. I DIDN'T KNOW SHE WAS HERE

  • If it's not operating at 2.4GHz then there is no problem and they missed the point by a few centimetres...

Proud to be English and live in the city that the cavity magnetron was developed in. oh... and also the country that the first computers were built :)

  • i was told that the uss long beach's radar was said too cook seagulls that would land on the radar thats why you see signs do not stand here when radar is active

  • Wow. I didn't know you could cook something with roughly one watt of power. I'm really impressed.

  • A long-haul system definitely would had done it...

  • im glad they had the reporter who has no idea how the tech works explain it......

  • put the damn bird in front of the focal point. that would make a difference

  • They usually dont use the frequency needed to heat water since that would affect the signal strength due to moisture in the air...

  • scheiß amerikaner, mit lebensmitteln spielt man nicht!

  • ah man i wanted to see the rest of the video

  • Shouldn't the fowl be placed between the emitter and the refraction dish for it to get any real radiation. The concentrated microwave energy gets dispersed and spread when it hits the dish.

  • yeah, these guys have no idea what they're doing... the only successful myths ever "confirmed" were ones already known to be true lol

  • No. Common misconception is that The Microwave energy disperses radially. The point of the parabolic reflector is to direct the beam in a tight angle. It works much like a flashlight does in that regard.

  • darn worthless clip it woulda been cool if it worked

  • in the place that put the turkey arent microwaves, they are reflected upper the turkey

  • I`d like to see the rest of the video, `cause this is too short and not that interesting.

  • sucked and what was the AHOY for

  • Poor Kari. Social graces aren't her thing, obviously. Look right at the end. She says "Ahoy" to the guy they're meeting, and then she goes to salute him. Oops.
