i think the "joke" is that "if you call that interfering" basically, "if you think the term interfering describes what happened" then there is something wrong with your learning materials (you must have bad vocabulary or not be very smart)
dirty little trick played against the sensors, trying to sneak in a profane word like that... odviously an in joke to sneak the word "Fuck" in as a reference to sometihng else.
Apparently you kids are too young to remember "Laugh-In" when they told each other to look that up in your Funk & Wagnalls. However, my family had World Book instead.
I could be wrong, but I swear I don't hear the N in Funk. I think they probably did that on purpose just so they could get away with saying it, you know, like when Daffy Duck says "Nice hat, you stupid fop"
If Erin Grey pointed to a crowd of people and said, "kill," you can bet there'd be a pile of people out back stacked like cordwood. That's how much I adore Erin Grey.
He said Funk and Wagnalls...it was an ENCYCLOPEDIA set that was found mostly in grocery stores at the time the show was made...actually I remember seeing them when I was growing up, into the early 1990s...
Hey dumbshit- the whole joke here is that he (intentionally) mispronounces Funk and Wagnalls--we know that. You and sansevieriafilms just keep patting yourselves on the back for knowing the name of an obsolete encyc. publisher... fucking loosers.
LOL =) I'm so glad I logged on to watch vintage clips today LOL. Rogers cussing...what a hoot... never knew that about the series. In the movie version right?
lol! I recently bought the Series DVDs and I cracked up on the "Funk & Wagnalls" part. I'm not sure what it's actually supposed to mean but it's still pretty funny.
Please... can you put the scene on youtube where buck himself is sold on a slave market (and the bidders who are all beautiful women, go wild). I was like 10 when this serie was on, ;-) I just loved Buck!!!
@JamesPrine It didn't but I remember when that episode first aired and me and my mom were like did he just say the "F" word. Funk and Wagnals coming off the tongue in that speed sounds like a vulgar word.
If you call that interfering, there's something wrong with your fuckin' Wagnals.

the "Funk and Wagnals" comment was originally a gag on "Laugh-In".
I saw this twice when BR first aired and could never get my mom to believe what I thought I'd heard.
Waited thirty years to find this.. trippy, and glad to see I wasn't crazy or mistaken like my mom said i was!

Nobody knows what "Funk & Wagnalls" means? It's the name of a publisher of dictionaries and encyclopediae. Look up the term on Wikipedia.
