  • Russian is the worst sounding to me. Too many nasaly e and i sounds like я,е,и,й,н. Interesting that foreigners say that its centered around the r. Where I live we drop the r. (Typical of southern dialects). Another distinctive thing is that we have trouble with the "ng" sound. For example I have trouble with Lancaster, PA, which is pronounced LANG-kister, but I say LAN-kastuh. I definitely agree on the unusual vowels and focus on l's and e's though.

  • @Oricelis To us they aren't unusual, but compared to French, Spanish or other Latin languages they are pronounced different. If you listen to foreigners who barely hear English imitate it it always comes out like "Racima roy kacirar semies larayori" for example. I talked to some foreigners about it and they say most dialects sound like that but each have a different rhythm. They usually like the Southern accent for some reason. I can't pick up Chinese accents well, like the Beijing.

  • Really? I think Mandarin to sounds awful. German sounds very nice in western Germany, but horrible in eastern Germany. I'm a big fan of Spanish and Hungarian and Hawai'ian. Arabic sounds good too. In English, I think most American accents sound much more relaxed and smooth when speaking, and most British accents sound strained and forced.

As for the vid, thats how midwesterners sound to me.

  • @Oricelis I like the sound of Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Arabic. The harsh sounding ones to me are Russian, German and Vietnamese. Most other languages are neutral to me like French, Swedish, Norwegian or Korean. Mandarin Chinese is becoming my second language, and I noticed it sounds better in singing and when spoken slowly. Foreigners say that American English is centered around the "r", "I" and "E" and sounds smooth but nasal and exotic sounding vowels.

  • Sounded like he was swearing...rofl

  • Sounds half British, half American Southerner

  • a peese rest

  • Ew basically everyone thinks we sound like robots . Boring axs language. Ughh I hate English fa real

  • @briskii1020yea ROTFL!!!!!!!

  • @briskii1020yea

English language isn't boring, the fact that its the hardest major language to learn at least makes it special, if not interesting.

  • @Oricelis It should really be boring, although learning a new language is both fun and hectic. English has a very interesting history. It's just us Americans made the English language sound very unpleasant compared to British English. Soon they're gonna evolve into 2 separate languages. I might be wrong but I heard English used to be a dialect of German.

  • @AlimeProductions Actually, most American dialects are more similar to the older forms of English. The English language in the UK is nothing like it was spoken back when the colonies were formed. American English sounds fine, I really don't understand how it is unpleasant in any way. The accent many people seem to hate is the Southern Accent, which interestingly is the American accent most similar to UK dialects.

  • @Oricelis Americans from the North dislike the Southern accent, but some foreigners think it's either hilarious or has some type of rhythm. I don't know, maybe to some countries it's like that but to others it isn't.

  • @AlimeProductions English is a mash up of german and french with a little celtic, norse, latin, and greek thrown in. I have what is called a "tidewater accent", an American accent. Look it up here. I don't think it sounds boring or unpleasant at all.

  • @Oricelis No, I wouldn't really call it boring but I did hear that American accents are really ugly sounding with the exception of the Southern accent. I heard it sounds hilarious but it has rhythm. But I hear British English is more pleasant. That's just the opinion of foreigners. To us, our accents have no affect on us because we've heard them many times.

  • @You can have my German.. and I take your english

  • @briskii1020yea Haha, but it is the most common language. Chinese is the most common first language. The thing is American English doesn't sound very nice to foreigners, but British English does. Americans really made some strange accents out of it. Foreigners say American English is a really weird sounding language but they think British English sounds beautiful. American English and British English are probably gonna end up as 2 separate languages in a few hundred years.

  • @AlimeProductions Tha Amercan language is different all over america. Theres tha popular Southern one and the California blonde girl one, and the new york accent. But there's soooo many more accents in America , people would be surprised.

  • @briskii1020yea As much as Northern states dislike the Southern accent, foreigners seem to like it and think it sounds really hilarious. They say it has a flowing rhythm but it just sounds really funny. The most pleasant sounding foreign language to me is Mandarin Chinese, but the least is probably German.

  • too funny!

  • LOL!!

  • lol that really sounded like english

  • "baech arase a current a hardier bech beroaous rayer"

  • I didn't realize english sounded so wierd to people... Thanks though, I have wondered what it sounds lie to other people :)

  • @riotbabez123 Haha it's just American English, not British English, British English sounds more like a European language than American English.

  • He looks like my high school boyfriend. Hubba hubba!

  • awwwwww what a little cutie patootie :')

  • LOL XD

  • MUYYYY CALIENTE ;) <3

  • =O ¡Tù ingles es perfecto! Jaja chiste pero parcelo gracioso

  • Spanish-speaker, right? I think people coming from different languages will have qutie a different idea of what English sounds like by comparison...

  • Ya I love his imitation of our "r". Lol I think most languages roll their "r"s, and french does that thing at the back of their throat for "r" lol. Even british people pronounce their "r" differently. Canada and the US are probably the only ones that make their "r"s like that, kind of cool =)

  • This sounds exactly like english......after 11 shots and 6 beers,

  • I disagree that no one else uses "r" as much as we do. spanish uses "r" a lot. I think more than in in english actually.

  • that's pretty good

  • i love to hear fake english. english sounds so choppy

  • English does NOT show choppy... It's very smooth... I grew up speaking Japanese and English, and I'm trying to learn Chinese, CHINESE is a choppy language, English is NOT...

  • Yeah, he definitely said "I want to race a car speed race"

  • They sure like the R sound in English which probably makes sense to fake it.

  • @crazyeye1 Well the English R sound is pretty uncommon; I can't think of another language that uses it.

  • @RICHUNCLEPENNYBAGS77 A few dialects of German, Dutch and Portuguese do. Also most dialects of Mandarin and Tamil. It is pretty rare actually, you can tell Mandarin from other Chinese languages because of all their "er"s and "zhr"s

  • @SaimDI I think Chinese and American English have a lot in common.

  • aaaaaawwww soooo cute!!!!!

  • That is amazing, ...so that's how we sound when we talk. We have a very choppy, mechanical way of talking. - and apparently we have deep voices too!!

  • i heard something about beach brains...?

  • wtff....

  • That guy's really cute. I'd def. teach him English...

  • what the hell was with the deep-voiced accents? There's not one English dialect with that accent I pretty sure.

  • HE'S CUTE. LOL.

  • this is cool. i usually just hear us americans attempting to imitate foreign languages lol

  • sounds drunk! xD

and I like how "amigos" was mentioned in there! lolol!!

  • Cute :)

  • He's hot :) I've always wondered what English sounds like to peole who don't speak Engish. Great video.

  • @diane6723 Yeah he's hot! Send him to California! I'll teach him English. :-)

  • wonderful effort. so fucking hot.

  • i want to race a car speed race is what i heard... which actually is english...

  • thats good.

  • that didn't sound like english at all, hahah.

  • I thought it was OK

  • 5 stars for being so damn cute!

  • haha this makes me happy

    its so cute =)

  • not god

  • he's hot! :)

  • muy bien! asi es inglez! es verdad! *vivo en USA, asi que yo se*

  • Erm what was that? It sounded like italian the whole time.

  • not if you're from the south.

  • Don't be offensive! *tuts*

  • haha i speak english, and that sounded horrible! haha wow

  • muy bien - sounds muchos like English in an American accent

  • It sounds like a combination of "pink", "red", and "orange".

  • i spelk ah luttlr english

  • I wish this went on for longer

  • im from england, and that was pretty good actually... muy bien!

  • don't you realize... the camera guy was trying to get him to do his english imitaion but he was like no I don't want to and then the very last bit was him speaking "English"

  • it was great

  • lmao hows it gonna be english when you say no non no ahora ahora ahora no amigos

  • Some sounded like spanish

  • Buen, hablo engles y espanol

  • "Ahora, ahora!" :-D

Yes, he definitely understand the "urrrr" factor of English.

  • HOT.

  • HAHA! que bien!

    That was awesome!

  • lol a lot of that was spanish.

  • Haha, that's so much fun! (:

  • The more I watch these videos, the more I understand how stupid I sound!

  • British English? I think so, because that was shit...

  • I think you should have made a longer video of yourself speaking fake English so I could get a better listen to it! The video was too short!

  • lol, hey i think i heard a couple real words in that blabbering xD. like "beach, raised, rail" in a very bad accent.

  • haha yea pretty close i guess because we americans emphasize the "errr" in most words. also, most of our words, i would think, end in "ing" and "tion" in dialogues.

  • Haha that's weird. Just about everyone makes fun of our "r's", eh? Well at least we SAY them rather than say "auh" like Brits =P (No offense, the British have lovely accents)

Sometimes I just want to walk into a foreign country, like Germany or France, and see how they react to my accent/tongue. They'd probably go,"Oh... an American" *throws shoe* "Oh, don't worry, that's just how we greet each other." =D

  • hahaha(:

  • he souns like an American white man in an airport

  • I'd think English would sound like a lot of "fart" and "barf" to non-native speakers.

  • Looks like a nice guy, but that sounded nothing like any kind of English to me, it all sounded like Spanish. I have no idea when he was even attempting the English, there isn't a difference in sound.

  • i prefer russian accent :P

  • bed-rest account air speech raise?

    hahaha!

I want people from all different languages to imitate English, it's great!

  • It really sounds like he's attempting English, specifically in an American accent

  • Hen Peach occurent Hence peace.

  • the beginning sounded like some kinda of dialect of spanish but thats probably cuz thats wat it was lol teh end sounded like fake english

  • he's RIGHT! that IS house english sounds!

  • that guy is cute, haha

  • LOl this is so funny When I went to Mexico as a kid people would ask me to give 'em a sample of Enlgish. And well anyway... That right there is what they would sound like when they would try speaking english. LOL That brought back alot of memories

  • lol

  • I used to do that when I was a kid. I couldn't speak english. This is great!

  • This is how I would translate that: "prepare to rest, account hiring beat to rest, well are ss..."

That's not taking into account any grammar corrections.

  • LOL! Yeah pretty much....

Do we really sound like that?! haha!

  • omg.lol.

  • Nice video. I heard "prepare to raise". :P

  • Bravo hombre valiente! Cuando mis familiares tratan de imitar a los Americanos hablando inglés siempre habren su boca como peces en forma de "O" y dicen mucha la palabra "actually." They seem to be right, we open our mouths as we speak much wider than those who speak Romance languages. But actually, we don't use "actually" so often =P hehe...

  • Awesome! I can do the same thing with Spanish!

    I must post a youtube.

  • lmfaao que lindo es!!!

its true that is house english sounds

  • What is your native language?

  • spanish O.o

  • My spanish is not too good, but it sounded like he was saying, "Not Now!" "Yes, now" "No, another time, when my friends leave I'll try fake English" "Now, now, please!"

Then he does his fake English, which is funny.

  • Que bueno! deberías haberlo alargado.

  • English is my main language, so that's really interesting to hear!

  • Heheheh hes cute. A beach raise, arererere a reach ress lol.

"paid to rest, a car, a hydrant, beach race, a taurus"

  • omg seriously it does sound like that!

  • I heard him say "car beat race" which is pretty good for faking english.

  • Hehe, that's good. I thought I caught a "beach babes" or "braves" and "accountant" or "spray" in there. Very interesting, and thanks for posting.
