do you have 5.1 audio in your hackintosh? im thinking of buying this same motherboard but i need 5.1 audio (wich i dont have in my actual soundcard with hackintosh)
do you have any issues with the 560 ti on the hackintosh? and was it hard installing all the firmware and stuff ? could you please give me a short response on how you installed everything ? i would gladly subscribe to you if you did !
@TwoPlusFourIsSe7en he didn't get the graphics card working, he said earlier that he's running OSX under VMware. Wouldn't really call the computer a hackintosh, all of us are trying to run it natively.
i have the very same graphics card and am thinking about attempting a hackintosh boot on my custom build. ive been looking at some forums and have seen people having trouble with not only that card, but the 5xx series in general. how did you get yours to work? because in the video it didnt seem like your graphics were suffering at all. just curious before i start out if you found the kexts to make it work in full resolution! lemme know cuz i was kinda depressed that it might not fully work
epic brosef. i used to have a hackintosh netbook back in the day when hackintosh was new and a serious option for netbook users who had to choose from xp which sucked dick, vista which used to much ram and gpu power, or linux which also sucked dick. Leopard sounded pretty sweet to our ears. Now that i have a legit desktop/gaming rig i'm happy running windows. Vista in fact, just for fucks sake. It's like a grudge, so i'm showing vista who's boss
hey im building a hackintosh/gaming rig with the i5 2500k, 8gb g.skiil ram and either a gigabyte GA-H67MA-UD2H mobo or a GA-P67A-UD3-B3 and im not sure which video card would be adequate? i was thinking a gigabyte HD 5770 but it seems a little out dated? anyway thanks in advance
would you recommend this for a first time builder? I need something more then my iMac and i really want to keep osx...if you wouldn't mind I'd love to exchange an email or two.
@sonicsoul0 Thanks, the case is amazing. I did consider the 6950, if you Google "GTX 560 ti vs 6950" you will see an article by Guru3D, and although the 6950 won in a lot of rounds the high temperatures, lack of physx support but most importantly the ease of overclocking the GTX560 made it a more desirable card for me. Also, the GTX560 Ti in SLI is very impressive and in most cases you get almost 100% improvement (double FPS) which is very rare in other SLI or crossfire setups.
@wicked4u2c i checked sum reviews out too, the 6950, flash bios becomes 6970 ;) and you can OC 6950 quite fell..i saw it, the hardware is poor, you won't get the most potential out of each card so it's a bad benchmark, IMO 6950 all the way.
@sonicsoul0 Yeah, but don't forget the 6950 is also $300+ vs $250.00. Dollar to performance the 560ti wins, the fact that it can compete with the 6950 and 6970 shows that its the best bang for your buck. I can show you my 3D mark score overclocking which will surpass an overclocked 6970.
@wicked4u2c Sapphire $277 + you better make sure the benchmakrs you show me are on GOOD HARDWARE that can actually show what both those cards can do, because I'm tellin you 6950 in crossfire is a frekin bargain monster, i know my bang for buck mister, it stands the test of time. Only sum cases your card is cheaper others same. RITE, you've been debunked, same exact hardware techpowerup, 6950 shits on the 560s - Expter Wisdom: You're cards MIGHT not cut Deus Ex 3 on HD properly, or GTAIV
@sonicsoul0 LOL you crack me up dude, check out my Video of Metro 2033 running on all max settings 1920x1200 with an average FPS of 45 on my overclocked card. Metro 2033 is way more demanding and has higher system requirement than Deus EX 3. Let's not talk about GTAIV please, the only reason why people get low FPS is because of their shitty programming, you should know that "Google it".
@wicked4u2c GTAIV is not shitty programming lol who told you that. Metro 2033 might have a dodgy Graphics Engine but there is just no way render GTA4 world better than it already is...it is a world simulation game after all, thus your CPU and GPU will be taxed to the max....so LETs talk about it. I am more interested to see your benchmarks on Crysis 2. Please reference your opinions or say IMO, so I know your not biased. My computer ran GTAIV ok, u shud b fine for a good benchmark.
@sonicsoul0 What kind of setup do you have, what are you running? Yeah, Crysis 2 will be overrated when it comes to GPU performance but we will see when it comes out. If you want to talk about true benchmarking I would say lets do a unigine 2.1 test?
@wicked4u2c HAhaha, yeah you probably use your computer for more than just gaming but me, just gaming. programming etc. doesn't really use CPU lol, Crysis 2 though is actually made by a very skilled team using next-gen technology so it's not overated at all for a gamer, infact it will be a view for things to come. unigine etc. are synthetic and their algorithms aren't built to deal with insane game architecture so I tend to use them more as a guideline. PC:i'll tell u wen i getit.
@sonicsoul0 What kind of programming do you do? Yes, I do use my computer for more than just gaming. Actually, gaming is probably more like 35%. I game more on my XBox 360 than on my computer. I wasn't knocking on the team or technology used in Crysis 2. What I meant to say is that when Crysis first came out it made GPU's cry haha and most computers couldn't handle it. That won't be the case with Crysis 2 as their are a handful of games now that are very demanding.
@wicked4u2c The thing is I can only think of 2 real bastards. RUSE amazingly high texture quality (requires muscle only) with quite nice but basic shadow and lighting effects (not THAT big of an algorithm), then there's Crysis 2 although major optimisations it will most likely be much more intensive than 2033 in terms of overall things to process and render + more areas to render with a more realistic graphics engine...properly optimised shud be ok, i hope no nerf becus of console. OO programin
Could ya give a discription of how you got your 560ti working?
I recently got a zotac 560ti 448 cores, but i cant get it working in osx,
blackcinq 2 weeks ago
@blackcinq You have to add device id to NVDGAF11.kext and use osx86tools to generate device properties code and add to com.apple.boot.plist

How did you get windows AND mac on the same hard drive? Or did you have 2 seperate hard drives? Thanks!

If you want a real Hackintosh, get an AMD card. This isn't a Hackintosh, it's running in a VM. The NVidia 5XX series is NOT supported by OS-X.

Do you have both Windows 7 and MacOSX installed onto the same SSD drive? Is this easily achievable and is it easy to select which OS to boot into?

How did you get the GTX 560 card to work in OSX? Do you have all the acceleration supported without problems?
wentakura 1 year ago
@wentakura I have no problems at all since I am using VMWare, see my other video "Hackintosh OSX 10.6.6 running on Windows 7".

@wicked4u2c Does this mean you only run OSX through VMWare? Can you explain how this works please.
