And in USSR they were the best ever. US is garbage: you eat junk food, most of you listen to junk music(although it MAKES good music). US indeed has good doctors, but unaffordable to big fraction of people.Situation in Russia could be much better, but do not forget that it has kinda revolution just recently.

Very funny, irobaj997 :) I am in School in US too, and I can tell for sure: Professors, and teachers in Russia are way better, as well as Russian educational system itself is more effective! And in USSR they were the best ever. US is garbage: you eat junk food, most of you listen to junk music(although it MAKES good music). US indeed has good doctors, but unaffordable to big fraction of people.Situation in Russia could be much better, but do not forget that it has kinda revolution just recently.

The highschool scores in the US are still good compared to the rest of the world, only about 15 countries score better than the US. But the US would score #1 if it weren't for the fact that we have tens of millions of illegal immigrants and their children, many of whom can barely even speak English, in our schools lowering the scores.

But whenever I read scientific magazines like American Scientist, Discover, Astronomy, Scientific American...etc. Most scientists who publish there are from Europe, Russia, Israel, etc, they do reside in US institutions but that makes them hardly Americans. Actually there are very little american scientists because most were brain drained from USSR when it collapsed or/and Europian countries.

There is no such thing as an American last name. For instance, a very well known scientist who is at the forefront of physics is Michio Kaku. He's Japanese of descent but he was born, raised, and educated in the US.
