@Moto561 It's an old method of communication over radio sets as speech was often very distorted or bad quality so the person on the receiving end could not understand. Ships used it along with Aircraft for decades in the 20th Century.
Wow! Your Dad is really cool. That was so awesome. It was really nice that you got him to do his own Sound Sculpture. But tell him I think he's a show-off. Couldn't just do a little ...---..., had to do a frickin' TS Eliot poem for the challenge, eh. Well how pretentious. Just kidding, I'm seriously impressed. But if he ever wants to challenge me to texting well, then it's on. :-D
I keep picking out rhythms and tunes... This didn't put me to sleep, but as far as the idea goes, it's wonderfully abstract and my hat goes off to you both for your creativity.
Your father has a very relaxing way about him, between the coding and button-pressing with the right hand and his left hand as it climbs down the page. Watching him is quite hypnotic. I'm watching with the volume on low and the signal feels like a call from the past or a signal to outer space. It's kind of melancholy. There's nothing like this on youtube--very strange and lovely.
I'm pretty sure my dad doesn't understand YouTube and the Internet hoopla so it's nice that you can share these moments in this way :) really imaginative :)
Happy Fathers day to ur family! It is so nice of u to feature ur Dad! He must b a great Dad 2 have raised a daughter with such a good head on her shoulders. Thanxs always for your incredible videos.
They don't always have to be relaxing to be enjoyable! Awesome video! Lest we all forget, this was the only way to communicate long distances quickly. Its awesome seeing how far we've come technologically. This video is a great contrast of past and present. Thanks soundsculptures! Happy father's day to your dad!
@duality673 Thank you very much, I'm glad you can appreciate this all the same. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but morse has played an important part in our recent history, as you say, and I remembered how I found it very relaxing listening as a child. Thanks for your comment.
Awesome vid! Where did your Dad learn to do Morse Code by the way Soundsculptures? Was he a signaller in the forces?

Not so sure about the actually morse code noise, but I absolutely love the noise that the pen makes on the board when he's writing :)
