This will require a little knowledge of basic electronics and use of ohms law.

If you use a power transistor to control the 4 channels of a basic RC, you wont have to worry about overheating/overvolting. Just wire the original negative motor power supply lead to the base of an NPN power transistor, the positive motor power supply lead to ground, and use a high voltage Li Po or Lithium Ion battery and a high voltage motor in a loop but making the loop also have to pass through the collector and out of the collector.

Too bad. I found out that putting for instance, the double of dentation in the rear gear, makes the car slide in a wonderful countersteer. Yet to see someone who can make such mod to the Tomy Drift... the rear doesn't handle more than a 12t gear... to small, but for an expert it should be ezy

Bigger gear on the rear, in a 4wd car. So that the rear wheels spin more.

The more spin, the more counter-steer you will need. But it also makes up for great drifting. Nevertheless, balancing with different tires if it becomes extreme, might be needed.

A whole lot fun. But tomy drift cars can't handle without modding the chassis space, more than a 12t gear on the rear..... which sucks =( even though it is already quite fun like that

i bought a set of those battle machines from walmart and im putting a traxxas esc idk what model it is but it has 2 heat fin plates on it and im also puting a traxxas 27 mhz reciever and a giant traxxas servo and for my battery im puting a jg 8.4 volt in it i might make a vid and show u how it works oh and im using the stock motor and gears.

@rctestflight you're using an airplane radio so of course it's going to be expensive. you could use a microcontroler sending data through the original radio to another microcontroler on board. what i would do is use original inputs and outputs of the original radio( originally forward, back left and right) to send a 4 bit binary number to the microcontroler. this would give you 16 different commands without having to swap for an expensive radio

radio controlled new bright land rover discovery 3, 19.2 v battery high powerd motor. nice. tis mine. me rc land rover would wipe the floor with any rc mod car that u got lol. its very very fast and great off road. massive tyres high ride height, masses of power. great steering, also great for going through streams and up hills even dirt tracks, so its a go any get out of my way rc 4x4. also by younger bro tryed his luck, he has a rc nissan silvia, my rc 4x4 ran over has rc car cause it was slow
