  • lol..;

  • Wow, trilingual? You're way too talented! I don't understand why anyone would give this a thumbs down; I just keep replaying it over and over. It's such a beautiful piece and you all play it so well.

  • my god was that beautiful...im goin to hell too arent i XD

  • he looked almost inhuman playing this it's beautiful although a bit shaky he can definatly play Tartini well and does well on the Candenza which disappointingly enough Vanessa-mae does not play

  • Because she can't.

  • I give him credit. I'm learning this right now for my senior recital. The notes and trills (and everything really) are pretty straightforward. He just rushes (2 much). It's really a lot slower than what many people think. Anyway, the stamina it takes to play all those trills in succession with the right articulation is the real challenge. Halfway through my bow arm wants to die. So...yea. That cadenza is messed up, tho. That might take a month worth practice alone.

  • Wow, this is my favourite cadenza. Do you know maybe where I can find a music sheets for this version?

  • This is the work of the devil but just failed to be duplacated

Tartini beat himself up for that

  • This should be the work of a devil... not made by human... very very very mysterious and profoundly beautiful.... Homage to Tartini!!

  • it actually is, the story said that Tartini dreamed about the devil playing this with his violin. he was amazed by the melody, when he woke up he reproduce what he heard in his nightmare.. Devil's trill..

  • Is it just me, or is he playing REALLY sharp? (Especially in the beginning)

  • devilishly difficult cadenza!!!

  • She killed the tune with all what she added. She's talented but tends to make..."too much". I don't like at all her music, even though I recognized she's really skilled and has "technics"

He's not so bad, you, play this Devil's Trill and see. He's good, even if it's not perfect.

  • she ditched the candenza...disappointing

  • btw the accompaniment is horrible. I think it sounds best with a piano.

  • A beautiful piece.. but its oddly creepy. Sounded at times as if it was being played backwards. Bravo !!

  • wow..im speechless..that was so beautiful..

  • Elizabeth Wallfisch and the Locatelli Trio's version is closer to being accurate.

  • This is originally a sonata for solo violin and continuo (of either harpsichord and cello or cello senza cembalo) but here they've arranged it for violin and ripieno... :c the effect is somewhat romanticized and less "gothic"

  • WTF!!! What a f... difficult Cadenza, f...!!!

  • ...nice, I'll look forward to hearing your future posts!

  • Wow, great violinist, I wonder if he also plays non (western) classical Music?

  • Vannessa Mae can't compare to Sir Güçkan, and he played the whole piece, in the way it was orginally intended to be played.

  • very hard piece has always been one of my favorites too bad it is called devils trill

  • Because it sounds like a dialogue between a faithful and the devil and the devil is tempting the faithful to betray what he believes in. This is why it is called the Devil's Trill, after Tartini's dream talking to the devil.

  • Questo Can Güçkan non afina lo strumento per piacere o pensa che siamo tutti dei sordi come lui?

    Povero Tartini...

  • please english, french or turkish!!

  • I dont speak english or turkish.

    italian or spanish please.

  • Woaaa, i tought the best version i've heard was the one of Anne Sophie Mutter, but i really loved this one. I dunno why everybody's saying that Vanessa's mae version is better, i don't really like the way she plays :S

  • Same here. This version, the REAL version, is Much better. No doubt about it.

  • i dont think the drums work with Vanessa Mae's version, i much prefer this

  • Bloody hell that cadenza, MY GOD!!!! I'm not a string player but hell, that was awesome!!!! Certainly deserved that huge round of applause!! Wow, amazing!

  • Agreed!

He really captured that raw, manic quality that the piece has. Watching that cadenza makes my fingers hurt.

  • this guy makes Vanessa Mae look like a noob. That was incredible!

  • i like vanessa mae's more but this is still good.

  • yay :D

Vanessa Mae's version is interesting to listen to but I prefer the haunting quality of the original that she just doesn't seem to capture

  • I agree. There are some things you can only get from originals (not that I dislike hr version.)

  • listen vanessa mae devil thrill its fantastic no perfect notes mmmmm

  • That was pretty good. Tartini's "Devil's Trill" is actually a very difficult piece to play with the violin. Especially when playing at a rapid pace. However, I still feel that it didn't recapture the real essence of the composition itself.

  • I heard another rumor/myth that only Tartini could play this piece so well. Since he sold his soul to the devil to play this piece.

  • and i heard that he had six fingers which made the trils easier

  • xDD Really? Haha, man no wonder he get's it so easy :P

  • he does not. You can clearly see only four fingers when he does the next octave stretches on the same key. DUH.

  • Both are Devil's Trill sonata... Excelent work on them ^_^ beautifully played

  • DEAR LORD his fingers must be near burned! Three movements??? Crazyy! Vanessa has NOTHING on this.

  • This looks like a very difficult piece of music for the violin!! His left hand must have been very sore after playing it!! However, I've also heard Vanessa Mae play it on one of her albums, and I think she plays this piece better, her staccatos are more defined, her trills are sharper, and she has more control of the bow during the virtuoso passages. I just have a preference for Vanessa Mae, she totally rocks! :-)

  • Excellent playing, professionally executed.

His bow is not controlled, evident in virtuoso passages. Even weight on both feet is needed (right now he leans on left). Feel weight of bow in his pinkie at the frog, more flexible fingers.

Technique really doesn't matter though, it's the music, and this is music :)

  • Well done, that was beautifully played, I very much enjoyed listening to this, excellent job!

  • I like this version and Vanessa Mae's version. Then again I have a wide variety taste in music. I like her techno use. I also like the instrumental background accompaniment in this version. ^^ I simply love it.

  • I wanna be that good!

  • Every time I hear this it sends shivers down my spine. It is a beautiful piece. This guy is amazing.

  • I do think he's shown a lot of feeling.... moving his body or not... there's a whole acting thing, and music has a huge energy... you don't control yourself when you're playing... don't judge him because he did or didn't move his whatever... ^^

he was applaused ^^ that's enough xD

  • bravo.

  • Vanessa Mae's version has nothing to do with this version. This is actually Devil's Trill with added background accompanyment. Vanessa Mae's version is a complete hack and re-do. One won't necessarily like this one and hers.

  • Beautiful... I simply love this piece. And it was done exelently.

  • beautiful

  • this song is performed very well and i am astonished at his abilitys to play. i would nt mind watching this again and again

  • une belle performence, presque parfaite! L'arrangement n'est pas très jolie par contre même si la pièce reste aussi entraînante que toujours. Qui est le soliste?

  • le soliste est moi

  • very nice! good work on the devil trills. those are a bitch to play, and you did well on them.

btw, i like the orchestra arrangemt :] gives the piece as a whole more character and a darker tone than the piano accompaniment, i think.

  • Well, it was a good rendition, but he isnt playing all the trills during the "trillo del diavolo", he just plays the first one...

  • Sorry.. i was wrong, i had my speakers too low... Sorry again!

  • işte bu benim kuzucuğum:D:D:D

    haha

    CANIM BENİM:)

  • Bravo on the cadenza! Didn't quite care for the arrangement for orchestra, but the violinist certainly has talent.
