Wow, trilingual? You're way too talented! I don't understand why anyone would give this a thumbs down; I just keep replaying it over and over. It's such a beautiful piece and you all play it so well.
he looked almost inhuman playing this it's beautiful although a bit shaky he can definatly play Tartini well and does well on the Candenza which disappointingly enough Vanessa-mae does not play
I give him credit. I'm learning this right now for my senior recital. The notes and trills (and everything really) are pretty straightforward. He just rushes (2 much). It's really a lot slower than what many people think. Anyway, the stamina it takes to play all those trills in succession with the right articulation is the real challenge. Halfway through my bow arm wants to die. So...yea. That cadenza is messed up, tho. That might take a month worth practice alone.
it actually is, the story said that Tartini dreamed about the devil playing this with his violin. he was amazed by the melody, when he woke up he reproduce what he heard in his nightmare.. Devil's trill..
She killed the tune with all what she added. She's talented but tends to make..."too much". I don't like at all her music, even though I recognized she's really skilled and has "technics"
He's not so bad, you, play this Devil's Trill and see. He's good, even if it's not perfect.
This is originally a sonata for solo violin and continuo (of either harpsichord and cello or cello senza cembalo) but here they've arranged it for violin and ripieno... :c the effect is somewhat romanticized and less "gothic"
Because it sounds like a dialogue between a faithful and the devil and the devil is tempting the faithful to betray what he believes in. This is why it is called the Devil's Trill, after Tartini's dream talking to the devil.
Woaaa, i tought the best version i've heard was the one of Anne Sophie Mutter, but i really loved this one. I dunno why everybody's saying that Vanessa's mae version is better, i don't really like the way she plays :S
Bloody hell that cadenza, MY GOD!!!! I'm not a string player but hell, that was awesome!!!! Certainly deserved that huge round of applause!! Wow, amazing!
That was pretty good. Tartini's "Devil's Trill" is actually a very difficult piece to play with the violin. Especially when playing at a rapid pace. However, I still feel that it didn't recapture the real essence of the composition itself.
This looks like a very difficult piece of music for the violin!! His left hand must have been very sore after playing it!! However, I've also heard Vanessa Mae play it on one of her albums, and I think she plays this piece better, her staccatos are more defined, her trills are sharper, and she has more control of the bow during the virtuoso passages. I just have a preference for Vanessa Mae, she totally rocks! :-)
His bow is not controlled, evident in virtuoso passages. Even weight on both feet is needed (right now he leans on left). Feel weight of bow in his pinkie at the frog, more flexible fingers.
Technique really doesn't matter though, it's the music, and this is music :)
I like this version and Vanessa Mae's version. Then again I have a wide variety taste in music. I like her techno use. I also like the instrumental background accompaniment in this version. ^^ I simply love it.
I do think he's shown a lot of feeling.... moving his body or not... there's a whole acting thing, and music has a huge energy... you don't control yourself when you're playing... don't judge him because he did or didn't move his whatever... ^^
Vanessa Mae's version has nothing to do with this version. This is actually Devil's Trill with added background accompanyment. Vanessa Mae's version is a complete hack and re-do. One won't necessarily like this one and hers.
une belle performence, presque parfaite! L'arrangement n'est pas très jolie par contre même si la pièce reste aussi entraînante que toujours. Qui est le soliste?
lol..;

This is the work of the devil but just failed to be duplacated
Tartini beat himself up for that
NumberOneFail 2 years ago
This should be the work of a devil... not made by human... very very very mysterious and profoundly beautiful.... Homage to Tartini!!

why does the kid seem so stiff when he plays? maybe it's his own unique style? I like to be loose and fluid in my movement.

Vannessa Mae can't compare to Sir Güçkan, and he played the whole piece, in the way it was orginally intended to be played.

I heard another rumor/myth that only Tartini could play this piece so well. Since he sold his soul to the devil to play this piece.
Lotusbitch 4 years ago 2
and i heard that he had six fingers which made the trils easier

xDD Really? Haha, man no wonder he get's it so easy :P

he does not. You can clearly see only four fingers when he does the next octave stretches on the same key. DUH.

very nice! good work on the devil trills. those are a bitch to play, and you did well on them.
