  • I got so jealous when you showed the msxs and a glimpse of an X68000

  • Wait, was that yen tag approx. 32-40$. How much were the games? Oh God those things go for insane prices here in the United States I'm so jealous. Like, a copy of Seiken Densetsu 3 is around $300. It's utter insanity. You have no idea how jealous I am. If I was in Japan there, I would load up on old systems and games. I can't believe people spend $3,000 on high end gaming pcs. I would spend that money on a trip to Japan and buy lots of old systems and games.

  • @TearofFriendship I'd do the same thing lol

  • awesome video, whats the liquid dnb track ?

  • DLC will kill this store in the future.

  • i bet it was fun hoisting all them arcade games up to that 5th floor up through them tight spaces on the stairs.. makes ya wonder how they done it without killing themselves

  • This is like paradise to me if I go there I could dye happily T~T

  • Anyone who doesnt know the famicom is just the japaneese NES

  • What is that song called?

  • Do you have the exact address? I wanna visit it

  • The place is called "Super Potato" its a retro video game store where you can get old school & new school Japanese games for Cheap. I intendo to go there in the next year of 2. Visiting Japan that is.

  • To anyone who's planning to go and buy anything there, it's worth remembering that the games in this shop are 2 or 3 times more expensive than those sold in other shops in Akihabara.

  • @Splazz Thats true but I have seen other stores having many broken or missing parts from the cheaper ones, I prefer 3 bucks more than a broken system

  • @iszalgocomin Except as I said, 2 or 3 *times* more expensive, not bucks.

  • OH MY GOD I HAVE TO GO THERE I WANT AN OLD NINTENDO

  • how much do original famicoms go for in japan?

  • The other version of Pc Engine you did'nt recoginize is the U.S Turbo Duo. Also the yellowing on certain systems is reversible with 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide and UV lighting.

  • you walked past a vectrex and didnt mention in >_<

  • chinks

  • 6:22 that machine is in my local arcade.

  • ha, I'd wear a face mask and damn well suffer a sore throat to wander in there and spend a few hundred dollars! hahaa!

  • Next stop.

  • I'm gonna move my bed to that store...<3333

  • Oh my gosh..I can read all that japanese in that video.

  • Damn, If I had a credit card, I'd be cleaning that place OUT. $50 (aprox) for that Neo Geo CD? Thats a steal.

  • Oh I want to go to Tokyo so bad. Stores like this make me soo excited. I would probably end up spending $500 in there.

  • @antnie0425 I'd spend Over $9000

  • tron with nes games looks awesome!!! I'm a king of videogames!!! he he he =)))

  • I think at 4:45 that's Nintendo's version of the Atari system.

  • @MooffinMan Nah, it was something released by atari in the late 70s early 80's to see if the Japanese would buy an Atari. They released the 2600 later in Japan in 1984 (after the Famicom, as the 2800) and is quite rare in Japan.

  • that's tight......... S::G

  • YOU ARE ONE LUCKEY FUCK im happy for you man and that you enjoyed your stay in japan :) ...i wish i can afford to go to japan....its always been a dream of mine ..

  • @moe0590

Get a job here. Then you never have to go home lol. Or it kinda becomes home to some extent.

  • Never saw more than one famicom disk system

  • God I loved that store when I visited Tokyo almost two years ago... so amazing. :-D

  • oh....my....god.... we need one O_O this is the best store EVER!

  • I would love if you'd link to this at retrogamersunited . com - this place is a dream come true and we don't even have a single store of retro stuff in Denmark

  • Why can't gamestop be like this! D:

  • @iYellowTv. i know!!! the one's near where i live are so freaking small. and they don't even sell Gameboy colors or Gameboy colors games anymore!!!!!! (which is what i want but can't buy online)!!!!

  • @iYellowTv I actually found tetris for the original gameboy in great condition for 4$ at my local gamestop :P

  • 1:47 Vectrex!

  • Cooooool !!! the greatest store on earth !!!

  • ps 1 wow i gotta go there soon.

  • OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how much was that twin fami? im buying one in canada but i wanna now how much it was there because im going to japan in about a year. some help would be VERY appreciated

  • Super Potato is way overpriced imo. Trader and Sofmap (the 2nd hand departments) are waaay cheaper. But apart from that, its an awesome store to check out or just hop in and take a smoking break on 5F :p

  • Another reason worth living in japan! :D

  • good video dude and awesome on the fly VO sound quality :)

  • one word Heaven

  • I want to go there.

  • AWESOME

  • Check out Brotherhood of Leet at my youtube channel - a re-imagining of WW2 dramas like Band of Brothers as if they were set during the 8 bit wars of the 1980s where Nintendo and Sega are waring nations.

  • 1:34 thats the pc engine duo

  • If I went there, I would probably be broke

  • I would go nuts in that place

  • Damn thats a paradise

  • did you add the commentary afterwards , as i thought you wernt aloud to film in places liek this? you must of spy cam this :P what sort of camera did you use?

  • @Gamerpigeon I just had a regular old canon HV20 (this was uploaded before youtube allowed HD) I had an electrovox 635a(?) mic plugged into the external mic jack I think and was commenting on the fly.

  • @soylentdean Cool! nice to see some shops allow people to film then , ive always found it stupid that they say dont film as its free advertising for their store.

and it'd probably be 1/1000 that someone was planning a robbery when filming and even then i think thats kind.

great vid : ) i forgot to say that last time i think :P

  • @Gamerpigeon If 1 out of a 1000 people want to rob them, thats one robbery every 10 minutes, come on man, it's japan.. 1000 people is nothing.. :P

  • @soylentdean

If you ask they will say no to letting you take pictures or video in almost any store.

If they realize you understand Japanese they will tell you to stop or at least give you a bad look. I have no idea why because it works for great marketing for the foreigners who come to Japan.

  • Respond to this video...

Oh by the way, the yellowing isnt from smoke damage. It is a chemical in the plastic which breaks down and turns yellow. It happens much faster under UV light such as fluorescent lighting.

  • @mikeman400 Yeah someone mentioned that 100 comments ago. oh well.

  • @Gamerpigeon - superpotato is one of the few stores which is OK with you filming... just ask one of the desk guys for permission b4 you start if you want to be polite...

  • @Gamerpigeon what the fuck does "must of" mean?!

  • @autentyk nothing because i was typing to quick with a train of thought and produced extremely poor grammar as a result. Here's a question , why did it bother you so much? lol

p.s what i meant to say was ... "you must of USED A spy cam FOR this"

that make you feel better? :P

  • @Gamerpigeon no, it doesn´t. you´re of those natives who doesn´t know his own language nor realize that must OF (instead of must HAVE- never have I had to point it out like this before:) is the most appalling error one can ever make in English. go abroad and do a tefl or something.. those errors don´t come from typing TOO QUICKLY- another classic..s?

  • @autentyk I think you'll find that being from england and living with the language everyday since i first took a breath im aware that the english language is the most flexible language in the world. Hence why 90% of the world teaches it. I see your Polaish so its possible you live here at the moment and surely you've noticed that in the UK people dont tend to give two shits about grammar as long as it makes a point and is halfway to being correct.

    So chill out jeez

  • @Gamerpigeon why would I ever want to live there?!

  • @autentyk No offence meant but there are alot of Polish people living in the UK and because you spoke 'Perfect' english , i hinted that you might live here. Im just digging myself a hole for no return but whatever.

Anyway i think in the future you might want to let things like grammar mistakes getting you upset. Especially on something as mundane as Youtube Comments.

    Just Saying.

  • @autentyk and so you dont blow your top , I meant Polish and not Polaish*

  • @autentyk What the fuck is a "tefl"? What the fuck does "classic..s" mean?

Ellipses are formed with three periods, you know.

You didn't capitalise the letters at the beginning of the sentences.

Two spaces after a full stop, please.

And the point? The most appalling bores in comment sections are grammar nazis.

  • Great to see shops like that exist! I would honestly buy everything there. The arcade looks awesome as well, right down to the smoky atmosphere!

  • Forget hard off, I want to go now ...... I could spent ever penny I ahve in that shop

  • I would give my right eye to be there.

  • @kujo3423 id give my right eye, ear, and all my teeth. as long as i could see and hear everythign id be good . lol

seriously its pretty much my dream to go to akihabara

  • hasn't changed much since I last went :)

  • wow!!!!!!!!

  • Seeing all those Systems I don't own, to Prices so cheap I could Cry... :(

  • dam iv been looking fro cheap game and watches every where but the keep going for like 50 bucks >:( i bet there like 10 bucks there

  • For the consoles what is the elctricity in japan

is it different than american can i still play them in america without ruining it cuz of to much or too little watts

  • the track is Wagon Christ - Natural Suction

  • Comment removed

  • You dare add such an amazingly cool song without at least mentioning a source in the comments?! HERESY!

Just kidding, but I am curious. Excellent video by the way, Japan is quite amazing.

  • Nice dnb soundtrack :)

  • omg.....sumbody go get me a towel......and old towelll....

  • It's not yellowing from smoke, it's a reaction that occurs in the plastic from exposure to uv-light and/or heat.

Leave your nintendo in the sun for 5 years and watch what happens.

  • You are of course correct, I think the permeating smoke-smell of the store from the cigarette filled retro arcade upstairs had me jumping to blame cigarette smoke thanks to the irritated throat I had through the whole walk-through.

  • i think the retrocade i "kinen" now anyway. not? :)

  • You sir are lucky to be there. The grand of video games around you!`

  • @soylentdean Fact is though, a console that yellow, would have some smoke damage, in that case, such as smokers roof's have a yellow color to them, and smokers fingers, so you are of course, correct. :)

  • @98Zai well yeah , but the plastic tends to also get some discolouriation if you smoke inside

  • @98Zai No its not sorry to bring this up after like a year but its actually a limited edition dreamcast only in japan I forgot which one it was but you can most likely find it on google.

  • @DRAGONCLAN1000 I can assure you that's not the case. The Japanese dreamcast I own suffers from the same kind of discolouration and it's clearly not meant to be like that, as the distribution is uneven.

The special edition Dreamcasts that were released are vastly different in colour to the standard units (like the black R7 or clear red Resident Evil: Code Veronica types).

  • @Splazz I remember now that it was the yukawa box dreamcast but it had gray on the controller slots so you were right thanks for informing me :)

  • I gotta go there when I visit Japan again sometime. When I lived there, I just went to a gamestore that was near me.

  • I would like to visit Akihabara one day, if only I could live there, sigh.... : )

  • 3:00 dragonballz!!!!!!!!!! i want to go there but id get lost =-[

  • I know just being in a Japanese retro video game store would make me pass out due to it's awsomeness! I'm not worthy.

  • I have too go there. Even tho i would spend all of my money there lol! Great video

  • great video thanks for posting =) went there last year when I was in Tokyo will go there again this year hehe also trying to check out the one in Osaka.
