Became famous in Hamburg first, then Liverpool, the rest of the U.K., then Sweden, U.S., and the world. This is great example of watching how, within a program, The Beatles were able to mesmerize, cause some stirrings, and finally hysteria in an audience. Watch their whole part in the show; it's fascinating to see it take place. Compare with American Bandstand audiences of the early 60s; performances were lip-synched and the audience sat politely and clapped, happy to just see their idols.
This is the early 60s, Oct '63. Bands during this time featured one lead singer and the others sang background vocals. TV sound people set the mics as they normally would for any band then. Lennon doesn't have a cold; in fact, he sounds great here (typically, a bit nasal quality in his voice)! Paul always sang lead on these two songs, the 1st of which he composed; the other was his feature. Even in JL songs, PM would take high lead; "A Hard Day's Night" & "If I Fell" are good examples.
Lennon sounds like he had a cold while singing backing vocal for "I Saw Her Standing There." Must be reason they sang both songs with Paul on lead vocal..
It takes a lot to move those frigid swedes. Compared to other concerts these ice cool swedes dont seem to move much at all. Is the country as dispassionate about everything?? If so, I sure as hell would not want to live there surrounded by people like that - nomatter how physically beautiful they are made out to be.
@sebbbo77 Oh, well thanks a lot. xD I'm swedish and really and trust me all swedes are not cold, it has nothing to with where we're from. It all depends on the person. I probably laugh more everyday than most people and I'm very loud and social. AND it was their first time in Sweden "we" were just getting to know them! ;)
Best band ever<333 Richard Stardust on drums and john george on guitarr and paul on bas well nothing can beat that :D

After England the first country that The Beatles became famous was Sweden. This is a great clip of them singing two songs.
