People need to realize there's a difference between graphics as a matter of technology and graphics as a matter of art and design. As far as latter is concerned, Super Mario Kart belonged AND belongs to the cream of the crop -- especially due to the way they managed the technological limitations of the hardware.

well not a "bot" per se, but it's most certainly not the first "one shot" playthrough. some of those use thousands of re-records to get one single video. seems like a greatest hits reel of sorts.

Aye, some tool-assisted stuff is basically impossible to pull off in an actual run, but they make for a good watch.

Some vids I have use footage from Speed Demos Archive, and those are pure runs recorded from the console itself. Those guys deserve props, because they do the one-shot deals.

anyone else notice that at the beginning of the video it said "this is a tool-assisted movie." that means it's not a human player. it's a bot taking advantage of every glitch and flaw in the game to win as quickly as possible.

A tool-assisted gaming vid just means that an emulator was used, along with tricks like save states and slowdown. The player isn't a bot, it's some dude taking advantage of the emulator. Hope that clears things up.
