I don't think Arashi spins with what you'd call a 'crowd-pleaser' sort of style - he isn't flashy at all, and the subtlety in the difficulty of his techniques may be easy to miss.
He's very, very good, however. This is a man who gets a lot of joy from spinning and spins magnificently.
Arashi has a really wacky style... I think a person would have to spin well to truly appreciate it. I watched this video back when I started spinning and was put off of it, but watching it now... and understanding what i am seeing.. It's bloody brilliant... he's got more skill in his left pinkie then most spinners do in their whole body.
You are great! I watched it several times over months, continuing my own practice, and suddenly i start to understand what you are doing with your poi. I am impressed.
Arashi, this is just beautiful! I'm inspired to practice more, because you have an extremely unique style and i hope that some day i can have people say the same about me. 10/10.
I think there's a bigger line between a "style" and a messy poier than most poeple.
most of what I've seen of your "innovative advances" is either very messy or just an inproven theoretical move like 3d poi triangles which I even remember you trying to teach poeple without being able to do yourself!
by the way, no offence meant in asking this particular question but are you gay?
Maybe if you werent such a rude and insulting person I wouldnt be so honest.
Garr!! The one year I'm not gonna make it to the Country Fair and you're gonna be there.. sigh.. Maybe I'll have to try and find a way there afterall. Sage was my first inspiration. And Arashi, well he's Arashi :).
Thanks so much. The closest will get to Orange county this summer is in July. (July 5-7 at High Sierra Fest in Quincy, CA; July 11th at Crucible Fire & Light in Oakland, CA; and July 13 at Oregon Country Fair in Eugene)
Fantastic. Hope to see you one time live. Greetings from germany ;o)
