Easy to Play - Difficult to Master - Impossible to Put down
Your objective in this fun physics game is to rotate your way through 20 challenging levels. To complete a level, roll your ball guy to the raindrop. Pay attention, as some levels require you to first collect a star in order to activate the exit point. Use the finger on the screen and move it in the desired direction
I wouldn't say it was "annoying"... But I honestly don't know why Microsoft can't get presenters or hold keynotes as "compelling" as Apple. The product itself is okay, but the people presenting don't seem to be engaging enough. They all [Ballmer included] sound like people hired off the street or something.
I have a ZuneHD and the UI is very good, but it is quite different than WinMo 6 or 6.5. Certainly Zune fans would find WindowsPhone 7 appealing, but will the existing WinMo base embrace the WP7 UI? Hopefully. I do love the Sharepoint integration shown here.
Well, we can safely say there's no other GUI like it. All those Nokia, Android, Apple and RIM icon-based copies look decidedly old now.
Looking at this, it's dawned on me that icon-based gui's simply don't work well with small mobile devices - i've always never been satisfied with the everyday function of the countless phones i've owned - perhaps this will change everything...
@5botball If you dont prefer the Metro UI, thats your opinion. But that doesn't mean its not intuitive.
The reason why text is so big in the hubs is because 1: Its a panoramic view of the UI and 2: it suggests to the user that there is more to explore and that they should swipe to the left or right to discover more of the UI
The same is true when the text is pushed next to each other in apps, same idea. Its actually very neat and innovative. Using typography is more interesting than arrows
yes i understand however being innovative and being smart / practical are different. if a company makes a phones that can wash your car, walk your dog, compose a song, chop vegetables by definition is innovative. BUT is it practical? i understand that they want to be another Apple copier but still the sort a "Artichoke" type of UI is weird(subjective yes, but at the heart, ITS clear to see) but i will say this is an improvement to previous windows mobile UI in terms of finger friendliness
@5botball The only reason it seems weird to you is because it is uniquely different. And if you think they're are trying to be another Android-type "Apple copier" (in terms of the UI) then you really do not know the people who are creating this product or their legacy. Therefore, your opinion ultimately doesn't matter. What matters is what the audience that Microsoft is targeting thinks.
im sorry but you again fail to see the difference between "uniquely different" and clumsy/ awkward. I know the difference and stand by my original statement. Fine MS is not copying Apples UI give you that. but they could take a page from Apples design team. beauty is subjective, thats set in stone already. but ergonomics is obviously not (questionable at best) i can talk about the MS store/ Windows Vista/ HP slate/ Courier. anyway i stand by my statement had it not been challenged.....ok stop
It seems weird at first but I PROMISE you it isn't. I own a zune HD and the UI feels very neat. The only thing that I am complaining about is the apps page in the Winpho7. It just looks like a long list. But I'm sure that in their next update, they will most likely solve that problem. Other than that, this UI seems perfect.
If you think the original iPhone was perfect and smooth months before it was finished and worked like the production device did when it was released, you've got a lot of problems. Prototypes and concepts are meant to show what the device is going to be capable of - when you can learn to step outside the RDF and see things with your own two eyes and understand, you'll be a lot less ignorant.
It looks fine, and when Windows Phone 7 is released, it'll be a winner that I look forward to.
lol i think they will be able to clean up the zoom in what the 5 or 6 months they have until launch. go look at the videos at mobile word congress. you can see how fast they are progressing. win phone 7 will be very fast and clean. you can bank on it
@5botball It is great normally, but the apps have to be programed with it in mind. I own an iPod Touch, and crap apps won't zoom very well. I didn't say that something was wrong with the hardware. I was only pointing out that the zooming was a development issue of the particular app. It seemed fine when he wasn't using Excel.
Maybe they improved the iPad's Office suite, but it was terrible when I tired it last. it was slow, would crash, and was a pain to zoom.
@5botball Have you tried zooming on iPad's spreadsheet app? Its just painful to use. Hell, I'm impressed they got the spreadsheet to work so smooth on such a small, portable device. Looks great!
Now if this will only work on my HTC Touch I'll be a happy birdy. :)

this UI is not intuitive at all. lots of peeling away and swiping to get to basic info and apps.
