Series Four's Doctor Who theme was disaster, it was a rendered version of the Voyage Of The Damned theme joined quickly together badly hashed, even the end credits have suffered as a result of BBC wanting to speed the up to get on to the ads and promotions, which I think is stupid the end credits are the most important thing at the end of the show, it does not sound good at at like last seasons of the programme.
I like the 2005 theme but hate the new one, it's bad.
I totally disagree. They've all been good but series 4 was best in my opinion. The first time i heard it, it really makes you excited compared to the more calm earlier themes.
thing about series 4, it was a darker series so the theme had to be altered to match up with the show, as when Tennant took over in the Christmas Invasion, they changed the closing and beefed up the original opening theme (As there is a slight difference if you pay attention between Ecclestons series and All Tennants Series/Christmas Specials till End of Series 3)
The recent ones have basically had the bass progressively taken out of them. The unused one was very heavy on the kettle drums.
I do like the new themes a lot actually, it must have been hard to come up with something modern and yet still have all the elements of the 'classic' Who themes.

2005 was the best season and theme. season 2 is good too. but season 4 ??? OMG Fucking crap. sorry but it's my opinion.

I think the theme tune's alright, the only annoying thing is the credits and the voice over man who spoils the cliff hanger.

there was a different theme in series 3, It was slightly different to the Series 2 theme. :) Less Orchestred and moor sharp :)
