@2wheels88 and if ice is lighter than water it is sitting on the top not displacing it because the full volume is not in the water so when it melts the ocean raises because more water is being added its sort of like if you have a glass of water with an ice cube in it. when the ice cube melts you now have more water in the glass then you started with.

I know it looks sad but don't worry they are made for this they are the only bears with partial webbing between their toes. They can submerge for over 2 minutes and they swim up to 6 mph. They have nostrils that close when they go underwater. Because the hairs of its waterproof coat are hollow, they are especially insulating and help the Polar Bear stay afloat.

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has reported that the effect of greenhouse gases on global warming is 1.6 watts per sq. meter which works out to a heat input of 800TW on the surface area of 500 Tera sq. meters for the whole planet.
This heat input for the whole year without considering the night-time radiation from the sea surface, can only raise the temperature of the sea by ½ degree over a period of 111 years! It is therefore impossible for the global warming arising out of the greenhouse gases to warm the sea enough to melt the polar ice caps from underneath.

@artboy98 I don't know where you get your info from but polar bear numbers have increased to almost alarming numbers in all but 2 colonies in Canada so there is no problem except finding hunters to Cull the numbers if nescessary.Melting ice in the Arctic does not raise sea levels as the ice is already displacing water.The southern ice has grown thicker over the years.Why don't you go to my channel and here what scientists have to say at the 2011 6th International conference on climate change.

@2wheels88 and if ice is lighter than water it is sitting on the top not displacing it because the full volume is not in the water so when it melts the ocean raises because more water is being added its sort of like if you have a glass of water with an ice cube in it. when the ice cube melts you now have more water in the glass then you started with.

@jatman12 Ah no you put ice in a glass then top it up with water it will no overflow as the ice has already displaced the water.As for icebergs the have a verysmall portion above water but its weight is already displacing the water.The only times oceans may rise is land ice melting into rivers or sea.Anyhow there is nothing to worry about as the weather is overall cooling not warming although warming would be better,just like more co2 would be better!!!

The "drowning polar bears" is a myth invented by the global warming swindlers to tug at people's heart strings. Polar bears don't "swim", they are able to float with their head above the water and only use their arms and legs to propel themselves forward. Watch any video of a polar swimming and you can clearly see this. A polar bear can float in the water indefinitely without any risk of drowning, regardless of how exhausted it is. Drowning polar bears are actually an extremely rare occurrence.

How do we know the earth is warming abnormally? We've only been studying weather for the last few hundred years and we've only gathered reliable global data for the last 50 years(?). But the earth is 4-6 billion years old. That's like looking at the last atom at the end of a hair on an elephant's trunk and trying to determine if it's ill. Other than the last 50 -200 years, everything else is just guessing. So, no I don't think I'm a James Bond villian with the power to change the climate.

The media just played it out too extreme, like trying to convince people that Alaska will become a sandy hot desert. No, it's not extreme at all, but it is melting sources of fresh water deposits like glaciers and ice sheets which will RAISE the sea level which can submerge property and land near the coasts.
That's all Global Warming is really referring to. It's the warming/heating of the ice sheets and glaciers which will raise the sea level, as well as stronger radiation from the sun.

The planet venus is the most similar planet to us yet the only difference is that the green house gas effect has already happened on that planet making it the hottest. Now it isn't only our falt it is also particles from the sup entering our atmosphere and that we are also coming out of a ice age and that earth is warming up. another reason is that the trees are bein cut down so now most of the carbon dioxide is in the air

Polar Bears have been known to swim over 60 miles you don't have to worry about this Polar Bear this happens every summer. I know it looks sad but don't worry they are made for this they are the only bears with partial webbing between their toes. They can submerge for over 2 minutes and they swim up to 6 mph. They have nostrils that close when they go underwater. Because the hairs of its waterproof coat are hollow, they are especially insulating and help the Polar Bear stay afloat.

the Danish Meteorological Institute who is not limited by 30 years their data goes back to 1958 and GISSTEMP has even longer records. both claim no warming in fact GISSTEMP reports that the ice caps in 1940 were warmer than they are today. Wow I wouldn't have thought that we were producing more carbon emissions in 1940 than in 2009.

That doesn't mean that we are not pumping out more CO2 than ever. I like that you're being factual about this... but I suspect that the closer that you get to the middle of an ice cap the temperature will be cooler. Ice will be harder and stuff. But that still does not mean that the ice caps are getting smaller. !!!! ;/

So your theory is that 1940 we had bigger warmer ice caps? My sarcasm about producing more carbon emissions was based on Green Theorists belief that the temperature goes up as the the CO2 goes up. Obviously we weren't putting out The carbon emissions in 1940 like we are in 2009 so why was it warmer?

The Oceans hold 1.3 billion cubic kilometers of water. Physics has given us a way to calculate the rise of temperature of water knowing its mass, specific heat and the amount of heat input. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has reported that the effect of greenhouse gases on global warming is 1.6 watts per sq. meter which works out to a heat input of 800TW on the surface area of 500 Tera sq. meters for the whole planet.

This heat input for the whole year without considering the night-time radiation from the sea surface, can only raise the temperature of the sea by ½ degree over a period of 111 years! It is therefore impossible for the global warming arising out of the greenhouse gases to warm the sea enough to melt the polar ice caps from underneath.

How did they survive the Medieval and Roman Warm Periods?
Why is there now about 25,000 Polar Bears in Canada and Alaska when just thirty or forty years ago there were only about 5,000? Too many unanswered questions. I think the whole "Blame Us for Global Warming" and "It's going to ba a disaster" thing is a political scam.

Due to an unfortunate fluke in evolution, we developed a brain that can invent, etc. but sadly we are misusing it, and by doing that we have endangered our fellow animal species on the earth. It is therefore up to us to FIX it again and never let this happen in the future. not really wanna know the true story of the polar bear in this video? He jumped on the ice flow to get a closer look at a boat, once he saw it he jumped back in the water and swam back to shore fine and dandy.Polar bears are at a 100 year high in numbers as well.
