the puck can appear to move backwards though in comparison to the player as long as the player keeps forward momentum, puck will at least not move away from net. (The NHL's excuse for allowing spin-o-ramas in shootouts) Technical glitch

1 step you go in the offencif zone by the boards

2 step you put a player in front the net

@skydome29 Rule 24 clearly states : The puck must be kept in motion towards the opponent’s goal line and once it is shot, the play shall be considered complete. No where does it mention anything about the player's direction. The NHL clearly proved this through Briere's shootout goal earlier this season.

@valmiustila The rule is you must keep in a constant motion. So both of these would be good goals.

@AchievementsRock Well, depends did you used "Rules - ON/OFF" in shootouts, if they're off, you can move puck backwards. Idk, this might be unrealistic game related to real hockey rules.

@AchievementsRock Dunno about USHockey, but IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation) has a rule, which disallowes you to a) move the puck backwards b) You do not have to touch the puck, it just has to move upwards.
