Downtown Rovaniemi, Finland

I tried to get to the artistic grey-white-black tower using Google Maps, but then I realized that it's a pedestrian street! I should have noticed that sooner. Anyway, can someone please tell me the name of that structure? I got close to where the person filmed it on foot (it's very clear if you zoom in). I think I was on Koskikatu and Rovakatu. They've changed the lamp posts. I'd love to visit Rovaniemi in person, but the Google Maps are better than nothing.

I think Rovaniemi is quite beautiful town, but it depends what places you see there.

There ain't so many old buildings (thanks to germanies for burning it up decades ago)

but it's the PEOPLE there! They make the city worth to live!

I may not miss the shopping malls of ROI, but those people. They're so much more real than people for example Helsinki.

i spent one month in Rovaniemi. one of the best time in my life.. i miss it... in summer it's amaizing.. really beutiful. greetings to Doris and Tivoli :D

There doesn't appear to be any really beautiful architecture here. Many of the buildings are modern 60's style and without any character. This place NEEDS snow, or it just aint pretty! lol

You're so wrong! Rovaniemi has The Candlestick bridge, as well everal public and private buildings designed by the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. One example is the Administrative and Cultural Centre, which comprises the City Hall, the Lappia Hall (housing the City Theatre, Orchestra and Congress Hall), and the Provincial Library. Lappi University etc. It's simple natural architecture

If you didn't know, Rovaniemi was burnt in 1940s by germanies. So there is not so many old buildings and this film was only a little piece what Rovaniemi truly is.

Most of the old pre-WW2 buildings were not so pretty... so maybe it was just good thing what happened.. we got modern infrastrucrure after the war!

If you do go to school there, you have to go to Mega Buffet! It's my fave restaurant in Rovaniemi, alot of good memories.

Golden RAX Mega Buffet. Pizza, Lasagne, Potatoes, Salatti, chicken wings etc...

My wife and I would take extra containers so we could take some food home with us;) Sit in the back booth.

We'd stuff ourselves sick, and try to walk home all the way to nearby Lappi Univ.
