Dan was the first concert my wife (then Fiance`) got me tickets for. Mesa Amphithaetre in Mesa AZ. A small quaint outdoor venue of only 1500 seats. His bass player was sick that night and he had Timothy B Schmidt of The Eagles fill in for him. Dan joined Tim on "I can't tell you why". Truly chilling the way the harmonies blendid in way that words will never be enough to describe. Tim joined on many and they ended the night with this song. This was and will be my favorite concert ever!
I saw this tour in Dallas. Wasn't a fan before that and was totally amazed. He rolled out hit after hit and I was saying "I didn't know he wrote that"...
In some ways a very lonely and dreamlike wandering into the deepest and darkest feelings of the human being. Kind of like walking around in a strange building without the faintest clue of where or why you're there.
I had tickets to see him a few years ago in Toronto but it got cancelled - his cancer has advanced pretty far and he couldnt perform. He was such a talented, handsome, and humourous guy- I love him! Rest in Peace, Dan.
just beautiful. so many emotions tied to each and every one of these songs of Dan's. each year when I see the schedule for Atlanta's Chastain Park outdoor amphitheatre, I still keep hoping to see him on the concert list. Atlanta misses you dearly Dan.
Thanks for posting this pre10der76, it's one of my all time favorites of Dan's. I still can't believe Dan is gone. :(
Btw, do any Dan Fans here know where I can find a list of Dans concert schedules/venues through the years? Please send me a message if you know where I can find the info. TIA!
You may want to go the EverOn website. They have quite a bit information. There is some really great stuff. Wonderful audio and written interviews. It lists concerts and also reviews from fans that attended those concerts. For me, I didn't think it was the best laid out site,I kept picking through it. Hope this helps.
I have always loved this song! Thank you, pre10der! Nice performance. I'm sure if we looked hard enough, we'd find a song where he DID play washboard! What didn't he play?
Hey great post! I too, say "Beautiful". I love watching him perform regardless guitar or piano. He could make a washboard sound great! Oh Daniel, you lost your falsetto! As a true performer, you tempered the situation and the song still sounded great.Bravo!!
WONDERFUL!!! THANK YOU!!
