oh and you can pinch natural harmonics. Pinch doesn't mean artificial, its the style at which you play them - there are actually two different types of "pinch" harmonics, the kind where you can play both natural or artificial harmonics with the right hand only. using the index finger lightly over the harm and plucking with the ring finger, or the silly electric way with a pick and the flesh of your thumb.

@kitsune10000 i despise electric guitar and 99% of "guitarists" who play electric. In my experience the far more talented players play acoustic, either classical or fingerstyle.

so i call damn near anything that has anything to do with electric guitar silly because to me it is. electric guitar is predominantly about loud fast sloppy nonsense. im not saying there aren't any talented electric players, sure there are... but they are the exception not the rule.

@Hudzan I'm pretty sure they're not harmonics. If they were they'd be in tune (with harmonics if they work, they're going to be in tune as long as the guitar is). He's just pushing really frickin hard to make the string vibrate as if there was a fret there, which is why it sounds so muted and the tuning is so sloppy. Just having your finger half a centimetre out makes a big difference when you're that far up the string. So out of tune and horrible...

There are a few notes in there which can be played as harmonics, but not everything, and the ones that can aren't sounding out very strongly. @TehSlothman IDK if you play acoustic guitar (I don't, only Electric) but can you press the string onto the sound hole? I'm pretty sure you cant so you can't call it a played note, the muted, dull sound that is coming from that is a harmonic (on acoustic guitar) on an electric guitar it would sound more sharp.

You just cant "push really frickin hard" onto the sound hole because its empty space, you have to press the string on a piece of wood (a fret)

@Hudzan I mainly play electric, but I do have an acoustic. I take my comment back about pushing really hard, you don't even have to push hard for it to work. You just push your finger there, your finger acts as the fret. It's dull because it's not vibrating well, it's like palm muting. It's duller than harmonics.

You can try this on electric, it doesn't sound as good but it still works. You can tell it's not harmonics because you can make ANY note, and out of tune ones. Harmonics are specific.

It's not practically very helpful, and I wouldn't even class it as music theory. It's more in the field of sound engineers than musicians. He's not using harmonics, he's using his fingers in place of a fret that doesn't exist, and the sound is muted as a result. To say that he is using harmonics wrong is incorrect because he isn't even trying to use harmonics in the first place.
