For the intro when u slide to the 5th.. remove ur middle finger completely from the high e, playing it open... and hammer on the G with your index...Esentially its an asus4 chord not a D.. other than that not bad..
"It's okay to do your own version once in a while, but sometimes it's the right thing to do to do a good song justice by playing it correctly. If you change enough chords, change enough of the melody, pretty soon it's not the same song anymore. Chords are important too."
oh for fahsake dude...da, da, da, dum - 1-2-3- uh, no dude not right, not close. So many old man posts out there and no one of them have Neil's strum or chop down for this song
Rckymtnhighs comment was correct. The index finger hammers on the fifth fret, not the middle finger. It's okay to do your own version once in a while, but sometimes it's the right thing to do to do a good song justice by playing it correctly. If you change enough chords, change enough of the melody, pretty soon it's not the same song anymore. Chords are important too.
no. it won't get you in the right direction. that sounds like hell. i'm sorry don't give lessons if you can't play the song yourself. i need something for NOT baby guitarists
@ThisIsNotHappyDays Young picks the notes, this guy strums a chord that's way off and says "it's prob not 100% correct" Man it's not even near the masterpiece Neil young plays. I'd be ashamed to hear myself after a failed intro like this and delete it the next second just to get back to the guitar and get better at it. It's a slap in Young's face sorry that you disapprove but I don't care because that intro fits better in a dumpster
@Notultimate Okay. Tell you what. Post your own "basic intro" to this song and then get back to me. For the record? I can actually play. I doubt very much you can. Even if you can? You're just an asshole. Music's about feeling, not playing everything 100% correctly. As far as Neil? That's a quote of his. I think what fits in the dumpster is your bullshit opinions.
@ThisIsNotHappyDays Why do you care? I say his intro stinks (which "for the record" is the only hard part to imitate like Young does it) the rest of his video is not that bad though the chords to play are only about six verse: am f c g chorus: d am em g. With some downwalks which aren't that hard to pull off. All i'm saying is hearing his reliable voice and anticipate a good lesson just to get earbanged the first second he strums his intro is to me an unnecessary waste of time,
@Notultimate and if i were him i'd get back to playing more like Young cause that intro is nowhere near Young. Which he should have stated but all he wrote was "prob not 100% correct". I'm glad to be an "asshole" for stating that this intro has no feeling to it, as if it's played by someone without a clue how to play it
@Notultimate And if you're glad to be an asshole for discouraging people from finding a workable starting point to master the song, which this TOTALLY is and I would gladly show my guitar students if they didn't have the technical skills to play it accurately, I'm thrilled to be the prick willing to call you on your bullshit.
Please, at any time, feel free to prove me wrong by posting your own video. Until then? Shut the fuck up, you arrogant, ignorant, pompous cock.
@ThisIsNotHappyDays@ThisIsNotHappyDays Wow slow down there drama queen! All I say is that his intro is way off and if I'd post a similar video i'd wait until it sounds good. Stop putting words in my mouth saying if no one plays this song perfectly they should therefore "lose the right to play" ? You have issues and I won't argue with you cause i'm not really the genesis of your hatred for I have not done anything to deserve it.
@Notultimate I care because I hate assholes who focus on technical perfection rather than joyous expression, which is what music is supposed to be a celebration of. You could've just kept your worthless opinion to yourself but you didn't, so now you've opened yourself up to my criticism. I notice you're not posting your own lesson.
Not everyone can master the techniques employed by Young; walking notes, bouncing roots and bouncing counterpoints aren't simple to master,
@Notultimate Those who can't master them don't lose the right to play their best approximation of the song. You remind me of every asshole I met at uhart. By the way? His chords weren't right either, although the progression's close the details are missing. Example? It's not A Minor; it's A Minor 7, giving a totally different emotional expression to the tonality of the chord. Which just underscores my point that you're just another prick who doesn't actually know what he's talking about.
Thank you for the tutioral Friend sadly I dont have a lot of gift with learning gutair but with heaps of practsie I can just about get this thank you again for making this I am lovin it almost making music.THANKS>
