I don't see why so many hate this so much, looks fine too me, my only problem is Doug's voice, aside from that this version is as faithful as the old one. Also anorexic Patty... did not see that coming rofl
Here are the the Disney Doug episodes I like you to upload for me Doug's Last Birthday, Doug New School, Doug's Hoop Nightmare, Doug Gets His Wish, Doug Gets A Roomate, Doug's Disappearing Dog, Doug's Secret Of Success, Doug's Older Woman, Doug's In The Middle, Doug And The Bluffington 5, and Doug's Grand Brand Plan.
I think Disney's Doug gets a bit underrated due to the extreme popularity and success of Nick's version. Obviously most people, including myself, feel that Nickelodeon's version was much better. But if you take Disney's Doug on it's own merits and not judge it against Nick's.....I think the cartoon is pretty good. Just my view.
Terrible voice acting (losing an all-time great like Billy West, and replacing him with atrocities...especially the Doug voice, which is quite possibly the worst I've ever heard)...the characters don't embody themselves anymore...and the entire production is grating. The constant annoying music in the background demonstrates the Disney effect. Plus, the writing is juvenile.
These weren't just minor changes. This was nothing like Nickelodeon Doug other than character names and roles.
ok, admittedly, how many of us while watching this episode right now, just ate something that was' fattening and full of calories and things.?" me i did. and i don't wanna hear how i should have been healthier.. i was just wondering who has.
I dont care about what anybody says, the disney version was good. I agree that the nickelodeon version was better, but just because disney made some changes, it dosent make the show bad. it was just like reality, cuz when you get older youll start to change. the disney version was just as good and it had a lot of messages, so I dont know what the heck yaw are talking about.
i agree 100%. Disneys Doug showed us that life is change.
People complain that Disney changed Doug, but if they saw the first episode of Disneys Doug, all these changes were explained. It's not like "Doug" was rewritten
@stevek83 I know. I wrote a blog on disney's doug and pointed out the first episode and the fact that they include all the changes. People bash the voice of doug, but that's because the voice actor left so they tried their best, ant then in the beginning they explain the voice change. I grew up with disney because I didn't have cable and disney put cartoons on network on abc and upn. Then it was on toon disney before school. And quite frankly, it works out nice. Glad someone agrees with me.
What I noticed is how much the show evolved and how like us it grew up. I mean earlier eps had Doug facing problems like not knowing how to dance or losing his journal, but as we grew up so did the show, tackling more serious issues like anorexia, death, etc.
@xxGalacticGeminixx I agree 100% especially at the end of the series when his voice starts to crack and it introduces a segue into him dealing with puberty and adolescence. It would have been nice to see it continue into that, but I guess it's good how it ended.
omg! you are awesome! I have been looking for this episode for about a year.. i just remembered about it and your youtube link popped up on google. ***Props** for having or finding this --- I couldn't find it ANYWHERE!!!
I never got around to watching the Disney version of this show, so this is the first episode I've seen.. and granted it has a good message and storyline, it's all so jumbled.. the sequence of scenes gets so mixed up that it's hard to concentrate on the flow. It wasn't nearly as successful in implying a "daydream sequence" as the Nickelodeon version.. but still a very awesome show.

Diets aren't just about losing weight, it's about staying healthy and building muscle. I wish they would've put that in the show.

Did Connie forget that she was once the fat girl on the show? In "Doug Tips the Scales", she claimed to be "big-boned".

Youtube can be weird. I have no idea how it linked from Hokuto no Ken's manliness to the non-manliness of Doug.
Still prefer the Nick episodes. They seemed to be more natural while not insanely over the top.

This cartoon depicts human interaction pretty damn well.
The more qualified people get out-shined by the lesser and all of those awkward social encounters growing up.
