@Rand0911 After spyro, they started to develop different games. Such as Ratchet and clank, Resistance, and now they're working on their new title, called Overstrike. Just google Insomniac games.
This game had so much potential! Dragonfly was supposed to have 25+ levels, short loading times, good framerates, 120 dragonflies to rescue, Gnasty Gnorc and Ripto teaming up and alot of throwbacks to the first 3 Spyro games. Too bad they rushed what could have been a great game >:(

@rorrim0 The most important reason is the difficulty, it is difficult by default meaning I don't have to play with the settings and I like that since most games today are way too easy and short, the eternalt night was short too but much more satisfying to complete. The second reason, is the ending is superb and it was so satisfying completing the game and watching the ending. Never have I experienced anything so beautiful and yes I cry every time :). No game today has done that much.

@rorrim0 Well I agree with his breaths being powerful, especially the fire element, personally I don't care wether I can roam around freely or has to follow cronologically. And sparx sucked in dawn of the dragon, though I have to to say david spade voicing sparx was one of the best decisions ever, the one they used in the eternal night was good too but not as good

I gave up after going through a few levels because it was too boring.
I've never actually had a care for Spyro, but this game... I love SO SO SO much! My favorite levels are when the fat pig take you to that place that looks like Atlantis, and the level where you're up in the sky in this city (I forgot what I was only 7 when I played it) x3 Then, the store that we rented it at sold the game to someone, my brother broke my Playstation2, now I'm playing MikuMikuDance on the computer x33 That's what all my videos are. GOD I miss this game! >_<

This was the best Spyro game out of all of them.. The new Spyro looks like a purple bulldog in skylanders, I wish this one was available on the PS3 :(

People are HATING on this game because it was a forced release with a 1 year development cycle pushed out by the Developers bosses. It turned out to be TRASH because of that decision.
I didn't mind the cruddy graphics. Lau Island was my favorite. And even though this game was put together haphazardly, it was fun to just pick up and play for a few calming 30 minutes. The soundtrack is nice, too. Except Spyro's voice is pretty pathetic. I like Sparx's Charlie Brown parents voice though.

I have no clue why to this day, but when I was a kid, I really loved this game. It was in my Gamecube Top Ten. I still don't hate it too much, and I still don't know why!
I beat this game, but I never got a sense of accomplishment from it. It's just such a shoddily-made game. Not entirely the fault of the developers (I would presume they lacked experience), but the publishers seemed to have wanted this game to be released quickly. No excuse for that and Spyro is still recovering from that game a bit, I believe.
When I got this game a long time I was so excited. My first spyro game. Well it was terrible. I was a young kid playing it, but I understood my feelings well. The game felt ' lonely ' to me. I hate that in games, the lonely feeling. This game was terrible and I don't remember any good things of it, just made me feel awkward playing it. Also, it didn't feel finished either. It felt somethings were missing. The music didn't feel comfortable except in that one place in the clouds I believe.

You can just tell the developers were just taking advantage of Spyro's popularity with the first 3 games and decided to throw together this piece of shit in less then a year with the worst graphics and voice acting possible and get some easy money. This game was the beginning of the end of a video game legacy that changed the way people saw platformer games with its first 3 games (I'll admit Spyro: A Hero's Tale was an ok Spyro game but DEFINITELY not on the same level as the first 3).
I just wish they would give up trying to "improve" and "innovate" Spyro and just go straight back to his roots and make games like Spyro 1,2 and 3 and build upon that (new powerups, abilities, levels etc.). What would also be REALLY nice is if they released a portable version of the first 3 Spyro's that would be sweet.

@neogilgamesh9999 In this game, spyro is voiced by Tom Kenny. The same as Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, and Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon, and little known fact, also the voice of spongebob.
A true Spyro fan would love any Spyro game, no matter what differences it may have. I have every game that came out, including the GBA versions. I'm proud to say that I'm a true Spyro fan :D
So they had to resurrect all the defeated villains of the old games to get a plot? And now Gulp talks? Eh... graphics are pretty neat, though Spyro's walking animation seems a bit less like an agile reptile and more like a balloon hovering along with dangling little legs. Too bad Insomniac couldn't have been the ones to keep the series alive.
@StevenTillDeath within the realm there are gates leading to different themed areas. to unlock them, i think you have to save a certain amount of dragonflies or something.
What if this would of been a 4th release for the PS1, with the same graphics as 1-3 along with the original smooth control style and no glitches. Would of been epic.

I hate that in games, the lonely feeling. This game was terrible and I don't remember any good things of it, just made me feel awkward playing it. Also, it didn't feel finished either. It felt somethings were missing. The music didn't feel comfortable except in that one place in the clouds I believe.

You can just tell the developers were just taking advantage of Spyro's popularity with the first 3 games and decided to throw together this piece of shit in less then a year with the worst graphics and voice acting possible and get some easy money. This game was the beginning of the end of a video game legacy that changed the way people saw platformer games with its first 3 games (I'll admit Spyro: A Hero's Tale was an ok Spyro game but DEFINITELY not on the same level as the first 3).

I just wish they would give up trying to "improve" and "innovate" Spyro and just go straight back to his roots and make games like Spyro 1,2 and 3 and build upon that (new powerups, abilities, levels etc.). What would also be REALLY nice is if they released a portable version of the first 3 Spyro's that would be sweet.

@neogilgamesh9999 Dude I totally agree, i was brought up on the first 4 games, but as soon i played the 4th game i threw it away as soon as i got half way through, the reason for this was that there were barely any mini games and it was not as fun. But i agree with you, shit voice acting and i was used to the graphics from the first 3 games, thanks for posting that comment

@neogilgamesh9999 In this game, spyro is voiced by Tom Kenny. The same as Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, and Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon, and little known fact, also the voice of spongebob.

A true Spyro fan would love any Spyro game, no matter what differences it may have. I have every game that came out, including the GBA versions. I'm proud to say that I'm a true Spyro fan :D

So they had to resurrect all the defeated villains of the old games to get a plot? And now Gulp talks? Eh... graphics are pretty neat, though Spyro's walking animation seems a bit less like an agile reptile and more like a balloon hovering along with dangling little legs. Too bad Insomniac couldn't have been the ones to keep the series alive.

Ah~! I remember this.. I was actually young when I played this, so it was a very fond memory.
I lost count of how many times I played this.. Selling my PS2 was probably one of the very bad decisions I made in life.
Back then the graphics seemed amazing to me, and the storyline was unmatched!

@StevenTillDeath within the realm there are gates leading to different themed areas. to unlock them, i think you have to save a certain amount of dragonflies or something.
