  • Which is the best version? please, tell me! anyone!?

  • Way to ruin an epic song.

  • That's Ruth!!

  • George Duke's voice makes my pants slide right off.

  • @NotMorning I love it.

  • 大、大傑作”万物同サイズの法則”からの”インカ・ロード"だ!このヴィデオ・ライヴ・クリップの超越性はなんだ!?20世紀驚愕の化物、ZAPPA #jazzm

  • I hope there's an uninterrupted version of this we can see someday.

  • That's some incredible clay animation right there

  • @MegaYoshitsune That's the least of the talent here

  • @CosmikDebrisFZ True, I just feel as though the animation is a little underappreciated, I guess a lot of people find it pretty annoying because they want to watch the band, which is fair enough.

Obviously the band and the song are just incredible, l love how everyone is contributing something important musically to the performance , there's no lollgagging on that stage.

  • i have to confess that never heard about frank zappa this is my first expierence with this music and i am very impressed with this. it seems that this is a rare mix of rprogressive rock and grove and another styles very good for me and the video is weird but it is is good for me and it goes very well with the rare music. Rare for me is a synonism of creative.

  • @efergarmx - JESUS I wish I was you, getting hear the whole catalog again for the first time!!!

  • Frank said this was his fave band in an interview, it's no mystery why, perfectionists on all other instruments supporting him while he goes to the "outside" in his soloing. A shame Ruth hung up the mallets.

  • George Duke is the man !

  • @WeThink4U Yet his material oozes with quirky psychedelia. Awesome coming from someone who didn't need or use drugs outside of tobacco and caffeine heh

  • I'm a car and i love the guitar or was it the other way around?

Frank , one of the greatest composers of the 20th Century

Frank was straight edge before there was straight edge

prog rock jazz from hell i'll take two please yes thankyouverymush

  • i'm peruvian & i love frank zappa

  • A MASTERPIECE!

  • remember seeing this on Night Flight back in the 80s.

  • George Duke is god.

  • du dun du dun du du du du du du dun du dun dun dun

  • Nothing like ruining a tremendous live performance with some cheesy animation not to mention overdubbed sounds that destroy the groove, you're right: great music, annoying video.

  • @rotagen5 CHEESY ANIMATION? You mother should punish you. Or your god, maybe, but Bruce Bickford is somewhat of a god when you talk about this stuff. And I can't see any chessines in that. Flare me with your anger words if you disagree

  • It's Frank Zappa Day in Baltimore today!

  • "Consequently." - (Arm comes out of forehead.)

  • Great song, but that is undoubtably the most annoying music video i've ever scene in my life.

  • Mind blowingly amazing.

  • Napoleon Murphy Brock. The man.

  • How long ago was FZ doing this kind of stuff. Way before his time.

  • Love it or hate it believe me there's more musical brilliance in this piece than there is in all of rock music put together. Many people are retarded by the need for their music to be sung. If you can go from there to instrumental music then Frank Zappa is waiting there to blow your mind. Having said that, this is not the best version of this piece, though Ruth Underwood is brilliant on percussion as always..

  • @Hirudinaceous Blah.

  • I'll never understand why he chose to destroy the song with this shitty, useless noise

  • @OriginellerUserName Search youtube for "Inca Roads- Frank Zappa And The Mothers- A Token Of His Extreme" It doesnt have the annoying noise, although it's in mono like this one. Enjoy!

  • ahhh relaxation written on sheet music

  • NO SE QUIENES SON LOS 5 IDIOTAS Q DICEN QUE NO LES GUSTA FRANK ZAPPA!! SINO LES GUSTA, IMBECILES, NI SE METAN EN SUS VIDEOS...ES Q NO ENTIENDO TANTA ESTUPIDEZ...YO DETESTO A ENRIQUE IGLESIAS Y NO ME METO EN SUS VIDEOS DE YOUTUBE A DECIRLO!!!

    PANDA DE IMBECILES...

  • awsome musicians. . . . . . .drugs were good back then.

  • @bboychoc actually douche, Zappa required musicians who didnt do drugs. he was a sober man, except for his alcohol. "Tities & Beer"

  • @Malictum why i gotta be a douche? it s all love man. i was refering to the visuals more then the music sir.

  • @Malictum AND THE TOBACO....

  • Thank you so much for the upload! This is such a fantastic piece - musically and lyrically.

And for the sound effect comments - that is the novelty of frank zappa. His music is unconventional and humorous. The sound effects in most of his songs tell a story. He tells a story with music, and the musical genious coupled with the lyrics provide a unique listening experience. The sound effects in this song are most certainly sounds i imagine when thinking of landing spaceships visiting earth.

  • @chunnkygoat thats fine but they are way too loud

  • The 3 records that highlighted George duke (vocalist, keyboards) were the best ZAPPA records. Here is a version of INCA ROADS that amazingly is as good as the track on the LP, one side fits all... FOR SUCH A THING TO LAND. On RUTH!

  • My nickname in college was "Ruth". My buddy used to sign my checks with "Ruth" as a middle-name and I'd have to sign it that way to cash it. We were, obviously, Zappa-heads. He's passed and I miss him....to my Phi Mu Delta Brother, Ian Gordon.

  • lol the dislikes for this song probebly come fom the government...those bastards

  • Comment removed

  • love frank, love ruth, love murph, love duke, love music

  • I never get tired of animation like this but I get tired of CGI animation. And with Frank Zappa this is Awsome

  • I really do miss frank, he's been a hero oif mine since the early '70's. I still tear up.

  • bagulho chato

  • This made me think too, before everybody was gushing over Sledgehammer, there was Inca Roads. :^ J

  • Great video and music. Great animation by Bruce Bickford (I don't give a rats ass what anybody else says). He was way ahead of Aardman animation at the time. Wish Frank was still around.

  • I LOVE THIS- VERY COOL!!! THANKS FOR THIS!!!

  • MAN! in the end of the clip the music keeps stopping that's so anoying cause the music is so good that you can't stop hearing it AHHHHHHHH fix it

  • Fucking Awsome!

  • I think the real Inca Roads from "One size fits all" was from a concert in Finland as far as I remember.I saw him in Copenhagen several times, and its some of the best concerts I have seen (Jimi Hendrix being another) :)

  • Comment removed

  • Ignore bickford. He's just a goof Frank kept around for what he needed him for at the time.

  • George Duke you rock!

  • mother mary and joseph!!!

  • weird. sometimes the audio is of the studio track

  • Persussion <3

  • is that george duke on piano?

  • The beginning sounds like shit I had to stop watching bout a minute into it

  • Chester's thing!

  • anoying clips/stops in the music at the end

  • i love this solo

  • Damn! was I BLESSSED to be 18 in 74 and to see this actual ZAPPA band live in 74.

What an AMAZING time for individual creativity and original imagination in music. Saw so many greats Live. FZ is still in my top 5

  • @wigginsdesign man who else did you see?

  • @DimebagsLeftToe

Oh I was big fan of Prog Rock and Jazz Fusion! I saw amny great rare gems that same year such as Mahavishunu Orchestra in Central Park, Gentle Giant, Joni Mitchell, Pink Floyd and YES many times durng their peak. Also was lucky to get last minute will-call tickets in 73 for Zeppelin at Madison Square Gardens for $10 each

  • If this were just the straight performance without the animation and extra sound effects, I'd create 50 new youtube accounts and vote thumbs-up 50 times.

  • this is still one of the best, most creative, inspiring piece of music since my 36 years on this planet. Hope some day the not yet official released synclavier works will.

  • @Synapsenkitzler I have "Franchesco Zappa" on cassette and it is all synclavier. I don't care for it myself but had to have it for my collection!

  • Oh man I miss this dude. Im a 38 yr old swede thats been fortuned enough to have seen Mr Zappa live twice in Stockholm. Both concerts in the -80s. My father was in a progband in the late-70searly80s and his housegod was Zappa. Im forever thankfull to him for that. I put Zappa aside for like 10 years but picked him up again an now listening to him all the time. Its a bloody shame cancer took him away...

  • Awful lot of pretentious bollocks in the comments

  • @MUYA123SLAYER blame the French guy - all they do is sit around talking about ideas, they let the rest of the world clear up the shit. And I'm a quarter French as it happens. Anyway let's not detract too much from Frank please.

  • What did I observed?

    - cars, pollution, very destructive wars, corruption

    - selfishness, superiority of social ties over the intellectual development

    - finally, I also observe that nobody fucking care of that, still in 2010

After a few years, I thought about "hey the problem is us, it's our mind, let's change our school". And I'm alone. Don't say me my ideas are not new when you can't prove it : if we're still in trouble, it IS because nobody thought about it before, in THIS way.

  • If you tell me "he never existed, because all is restructured from what came before", so you have to admit my idea is pretty new.

Here's what I think : when I start to observe and see how stupid are my fellows, I was not aware of any psych knowledge, neither philosophical, etc. I can say that my ideas are timeless and should have happened.

But what make them strong and leading to my conclusions and solutions is what I observed from my age and wich make me very persevering.

  • 8:50......can someone write this part out for me ? +_+

  • Is there a version of this without all the animation/sound effects?

  • a litlle horror..

  • Zappa is the best thing we have since a few centuries. He's a cure against mediocrity.

If there are so few people to love him, this is because many of us are unable to do any efforts to understand what seems clearly intelligent yet.

I did (and that was hard) some efforts 15 years ago when I was young, I really don't regret it.

  • stupid claymation. way to ruin a perfect live song

  • Absolutely transcendent. This band must have been very close to the pinnacle of musical virtuosity in the golden era before (somehow) progressive jazz / rock / fusion got a bad name. Wonderful.......Thanks Frank

  • i feel like i had gone to the planet of bacon mean and had the marrow sucked out of my bones

  • Video's a TAD bit underrated don'tcha think? Sorry if I'm being too obvious.

  • This recording of the tune has one of the best FZ guitar solos I've heard. I agree about the sound effects during the animation - they are complete distraction.

  • one of the best song ever made

  • one of the best song ever made

  • I don't mind the animation as much. It's the sound effects that are damned annoying.

  • @swakachi Search youtube for "Inca Roads- Frank Zappa And The Mothers- A Token Of His Extreme" It is a VHS dub without the sound effects. I dug a little deeper and knew there had to be one out there so I figured Id share the finding. I am working on getting a higher quality dub of this great tune out there in the near future.

  • Did they release the concert footage w/o all the animation? It's funny & all, but I really just wanna hear/see the band.

  • were the gods astronauts?

  • wish there were more stars for a more accurate review. 889,183,000,000 stars.

  • Seen Frank live several times and was excellent, but wish I could of seen this line up too.

  • Franks solo in this is probably one of my favourite solos ever... wish I could play like that.

  • @chriscooke109 Yes, His solo on the One Size fits all version and also the keyboard solo on that album is mind blowing

  • I dig the animations, but I would rather just watch the band kick ass. The Sound FX also drown out the band, which is kinda silly. Still, it's a trippy video.

  • This is a video of one of Zappa's best bands being awesome as usual. I approve.

  • pure genius !!

  • Just in the way that Frank was not as famous as say...Foghat in the 70`s, most complex and original musical acts of today are quite unknown...Look and you shall find. But if you really really like the "all past time is a better time" point of view `cause it`s somewhat confartable to have the idea tha you`re on top of EVERYTHING that`s worth listening to, well, that`s ok too....Like frank said, it`s only entertaninment.

  • c et le premiere fois que j ai entendu zappa c etais a la tele sur a2 une claque!!!

  • Another masterpiece, the band is so great, they are really enjoying while playing.

Rich of harmonies (and dis harmonies).

Period of Zappa's work that I like the most.

  • Why don't you sharpen it then?

  • @passonno Mother Mary N Joseph

  • Frank and his band are musical geniuses compared to the music of today.... no wait.... they cannot be compared because they are so brilliant! Inca Roads is one of my favourites.

P.S.: Ruth is hot and if I was there, I would kiss her legs.

  • O solo é realmente by Zappa

  • I want to fold this song into some sort of phallic shape and insert it into myself.

  • @ElectLesClaypool You, sir, have made the funniest comment I have read all day.

  • @ElectLesClaypool You are very creative

  • @ElectLesClaypool That's...hot.

  • Saw this live in 1974. A video doesn't begin to represent the fact that hearing this live sent chills up your spine and your mouth DROPPING with amazement at the shear creative musicality of the performance. I mean you really felt you were witnessing something significant and timeless. Which you were.

And as always, Frank did it like oh hum just another concert of my little combo.

  • @curiousnomad Wow, your lucky, Saw it live several times in 88 and was awesome. They had an excellent line up but the one size fits all line up is my favorite along with Zoot Allures, Joes Garage ect., lol

Wish I could of been there in 74 but my mom held me back at the age of 10, hehehe

  • My favorite line up :>) One size fits all!!

  • they must've had so much fun playing together..

  • My brother had a copy of this performance without the animation. If he still has it I will upload it soon.

  • @43500534 Go ahead!

  • @43500534 please do! :D

  • @phektus thanks for reminding me ..sorry

  • nice footage

  • animation effects are annoying but I love the vocals at the beginning so much..

  • "THAT'S RUTH" haha

Fuck!!! Music nowdays is so piss poor and booooooring ... what went wrong?

  • @heyawhaw If you tell me ol' buddy I reckon we'll both fuckin know...good question though......

  • @heyawhaw Guacamole Queen Guacamole Queen Guacamole Queen!

  • @heyawhaw They just don't make 'em like they used to.

  • @heyawhaw Zappa Died

  • @heyawhaw Nickleback happened....thank God Zappa left thousands of hours of music in his vault.

  • @heyawhaw So true.....so true. Modern music listeners have no attention span for music like this. Nor are they musically inclined to appreciate it's organized chaos.

All we can do is remind them that music like this exists......

  • @heyawhaw

What went wrong is humans, since the begining of humanity, are mainly composed of people following innovations produced by a minority of real humans (using all their brain and not only a few parts).

This force, that I call "the evil lazyness", is responsible of the chaos. It IS chaos, in fact. And the end of this, if nobody had courage for warning people, is the chaotisation of humanity. Humanity return to a mediocre state, naturally. Lazy selfish people win.

  • @porn4peace

99% of people don't want to see how they behave. I do an effort an analyse humanity. I do this since I'm a kid.

And you say to me that I'm lazy? LoL, is this a joke?

YOU are lazy. YOU don't want to see what the reality of this world. People don't move, people buy cars, decrease the air quality, and they do it because they are too lazy to find a job near their home or the contrary. They want comfort, not efforts.

  • @Informatisse

All I'm saying is that (and reading your lengthy reply only confirms my first impression) there is nothing new or original or particularly insightful on the thoughts you expressed here. I was not calling you lazy, I was calling your opinions lazy.

What IS lazy (and, alas, all too common in the human race) is making assumptions about people or things you don't know. I may very well be stupid, but you wouldn't know.

  • @porn4peace

    - I know what I observe.

    - I know that I'm near the truth when I can make reasoning that have strong arguments in relation with my observations.

    - I know that my opinion is not lazy because it is the product of my long efforts (I can count it in years) and because it is fertile (it bring a new knowledge, new solutions).

Now stop doing your tired disenchanted old beared teenage, and prove me that my thoughts are not original (bring me a reference).

  • @porn4peace

Bring me a reference about someone who thought that :

1 - intelligence is precisely asking what is intelligence, and trying to build structures to improve it (wich is clearly lacking since the begining of humanity ; if you're not convinced, give me a name of a something wich could be dedicated to this idea).

2 - people don't do any efforts to work on the 1rst point, neither to create/improve structures that could support it (the relation between the two is obvious).

  • @Informatisse 1) Descartes and others have wrestled with these ideas a couple hundred years ago.

    2) Every intelligent person on the internet has griped to other intelligent people on the internet that not enough people invest enough time in their minds. There's an old saying, "you can either be a wolf, or a sheep. Being a sheep is boring, being a wolf is lonely, but you have to choose."

Your ideas are not wrong, but they are not new either. Do some research before shitting all over Zappa vids.

  • @fiddlercrab3

Did Descarte think about creating a new discipline at school, made of psychology and technics of communication?

Did any of those psychologist and expert of communication this world carried thought about creating such a thing?

The answer is : no. Or we would have had this created since many decades.

I don't say that NOBODY never thought about it, it just say : I'm alone, working on my ideas, and I don't find anybody to work with me.

  • @Informatisse Again, you are incorrect. Descartes was thinking about human intelligence, in a school setting. Psychology is a relatively recent field, and since then many psychologists have worked on understanding how the human brain works.

The reason the world hasn't caught on is twofold: 1) this is hard stuff, and 2) nobody reads psych papers!

You will have an easier time finding people to work with you if you learn to be less aggressive in your words, and use proper spelling and grammar.

  • @fiddlercrab3 Yeah yeah, Descartes thought about creating something to educate his fellows... So why are we still in the same situation today?

    1) It's hard yeah but it's not an excuse. Why is there so few people to have worked on this? How can I find those people? Give me the words I should type in google. I'm serious : HOW can I find them? See, even our tools are useless.

    2) Nobody read psych papers. Guess why? Oh, because schools don't teach us to read psych papers...

  • @fiddlercrab3 And I'm not agressive, I'm just realistic. About my grammar, perhaps should we continue this discussion in french? I'm certainly not good in English, but at least I use this language and 90% of what I said can be understood.

  • @fiddlercrab3

So YOU do some research, and I keep communicating with people on every pages I want.

  • @porn4peace

    - We got schools : to learn a profession.

    - We got great thinkers and men of actions : to fight against or defend something specifically (but not the intelligence itself ; so their action are ephemera and followed only by chance and obscur mecanisms).

Nobody has never thought about reform our schools to add 4 hours per weeks for a new discipline consisting to discuss about intelligence, communication problems, psychology, and about behaviors.

    Nobody, simply nobody.

  • @porn4peace

The evolution of intelligent species like us is (this is my opinion) :

    - to use the consciousness to be aware (feedback process)

    - to help creating structures to teach all that depends of this mind process

    - and finally to improve our intelligence to make us entirely critic about our behaviors.

My solutions are not only philosophical, they are concrete. I watch around, me, I see that everybody don't fucking care.

  • @porn4peace

Now let you and your porn for peace, wich is a perfect exemple of laziness. Don't fall asleep on your dick. :/

  • @Informatisse

Your thoughts on humanity are unoriginal and lazy.

  • @porn4peace

Now, those people who don't do any efforts, they create a normality based on laziness. Their lack of efforts incitate the buisenessmen to sale them fast-food, fast-music, in one word fast-devices.

After that, if you critisize the music industry, they answer you : "but they want it ! they buy it ! You're wrong". Wrong? No, I'm not wrong : today's music is mediocre, and there is an explaination for this : the laziness.

So don't call me a lazy guy, stupid.

  • @porn4peace

And last but not least, I tried to explain this on many people around me : they don't understand, they call me a troll, and they try to censure me.

People are not only lazy, they are fascist too. They can't stand that one guy be smarter than they are. They don't want it. They act in the way to make intelligence very hard to emmerge.

They do it buy having a fucking smile on their face saying "I won't do anything, I just want to fuck and to buy, try to fight me douche".

  • @porn4peace

This is a fact : humanity is like a fluid.

This fluid dilutes intelligence and tends to cool people.

Without any questioning about how to be intelligence, people think they are ; but in fact they are not and use only some part of their brain, the ones they prefer (emotion).

Kids are then in face of a dilema : being smart but suffering, or being complete (or partial) assholes who have only interest in being happy. Truth and intelligence are barriers to their social ascension.

  • @porn4peace

Finally people chose to be assholes. Some of them (let's say fifty percent) try to be as good as they can. They think "I'm not evil, that's enough". Some can even think "I'm a member of an association, I'm a good person".

But in fact : who think about the expansion of stupidity, the psychological mecanism of mediocrity, the way to fight against it? Who ask about what is intelligence? Who discover that intelligence is precisely thinking about what is intelligence?

    Nobody.

  • @Informatisse everything is restructured from whatever came before, therefore your statement that you, are the first one to come up with this thought is not only false. there have been observations that IQ has been on the rise. is this a sign we get smarter? we don't know why. it is well known that science is one big repition of trial and error in which everyone is trying to filter out each others mistakes. these statements do not proof that humans are actually getting smarter

  • @znubzz188

    - Hi ! Firstable you don't use uppercases at the begining of your sentences, wich make the read more difficult.

    - Secondly you tell me that the IQ is rising and that I'm not the only one to be smart, and shortly after you tell me that's not a proof of actually getting smarter...

I'm ok with your first statement : everything is restructured. But I think I could have had the same ideas 1000 years ago. So the question is : who is my ancestral lookalike?

  • @heyawhaw DOPE IS WHAT WENT WRONG WITH THESE NEW DOPES WHO CALL THEMSELVES MUSICIANS...

  • @heyawhaw

too much technology into live and recorded music + musicians and producers that want to become stars immedietly and need a radio/video hit NOW!!!!

there r still great musicians out there but you can't find them on mainstream media

  • @joe6strings You hit the nail on the head.

  • @heyawhaw

  • @heyawhaw The exact same which already went wrong in 1974. Greedy corporate guys wanting to dumb down music - and did it successfully. That's why Zappa created his own label. There was a lot of really crappy music in the 1970s as well, it just happend to be also the decade where - for whatever reason - some really fantastic and creative musicians were around and came up with truly amazing stuff.

  • Did a Booger Bear really come from out there, somewhere?

  • Holy shit, what a trip!

The regular tiny cuts in audio towards the end are so fucking annoying! Why oh why?! Well, at least everything's better than that fucked up Montana video!
