The Genesis soundtrack is SO much better. The Snes version is verry half assed here. very slow and boring. Percussion doesn't stick out and it all blends together.
this is the first platform game i ever played and all i can say is instead of making 5 or 6 more repetative mario games why not make about 3 more earthworm jim games
One of the first games I owned was Earthworm Jim. The toung-in-cheek humor, creativity and playthrough was very zainy, yet fluid. However, this game is known for it's difficulty; once you lose, you start all over. Even still, the humor was enough for me to play over and over again. The stand out was the music. The music added icing to the already hilarious humor of the game. Even still, Earthworm Jim has shown me that Mario isn't the only one who can do platforming right, and that's groovy.
i used to have both ewj games for the sega genesis, and my mom got rid of everything! the system, the games, everything! well, i got the snes with the 2nd ewj game and i dont have the first yet. thanks for the upload. the music is cool
brilliant game and soundtrack, tommy tallarico is a genius. i 've got the remixed soundtrack with the cd quality music, it's great. EWJ 2 had some great songs too.
Hey would anyone happen to know the name of the song to the crazy Hell level in Earthworm Jim? I've been looking for the name of it for forever and I just can't seem to find it ever, I'd hear it, and get so frustrated when I could never figure it's name out. So, please if anyone knows, reply.
Earthworm jim stands as a defining game, bringing something never before seen to the table. It was 'groovy', insane, unconventional and as hard as any mega man game. I accept that it is a defining game and it should never be overlooked.
with enough practice this game is actually quite easy to get through. I went through the first level with out taking any damage sort of exactly like he did the other day.
Earthworm Jim is one of those games that are just so far out there that its entertaining & fun. The music has its own wacky value, too. Anyone remember the cartoon on WB years ago?
lol, i just saw a goof here. Your playing the genesis version! lol, I could tell because in the evil the cat boss, the SNES version has some stuff in the backround, while the genesis is just black.
Well, I'm not the one playing, and yes, the video is from the Genesis version. My videos are about the music primarily, the video footage playing is always treated as an afterthought. The audio is indeed from the SNES version, as detailed in the description.
Anyone else love the fact that you couldn't see the bullets until they hit something?

If you mean the beginning of the track then it's a sample from Night on Bald Mountain by Mussorgsky.

I personally prefer the Genesis soundtrack to the SNES one.

new junk city sounds like it has new instruments added. i know its the snes version of the music.
jcarlson09 3 years ago
Something I just have to know...Did you remix New Junk City? Because certain parts just got funkier and I rather like it.
blacksiouxsie 3 years ago
I wish I had those skills, but sadly that's not the case. I'm guessing that maybe you remember the Genesis version of the soundtrack?
garudoh 3 years ago
Actually, I've only seen runs of EWJ and have only played 2 on Genesis.
It's just that what I've heard on Genesis was REALLY different from the New Junk City theme I hear on this video.

The tune thats starts at 1.46 would be a it if they did a remix of it and started to play it on clubs :) The whole Earthworm Jim soundtrack is epic

Is this a tool-assisted video? It looks that way or this guy has insane reaction time and memorization skills. I just go with TAS'd.
