Oldest trick in the book......to save a singer's voice in the big scheme , they beef up the visual production of a tour as is quite evident in the videos posted from this tour . They hope that people won't notice as they're still being entertained (in theory) . Unfortunately....some of us still notice . But Christina is amazing....and you have to do what you have to do . She can't keep throwing it out there and expect to maintain her voice...insert more theatrical here :)

Whenever these hot vocalists go on tour , they tone it down a notch and add more theatrical as to save their voice from being blown out . They have to do this because they can't sing their hearts out on every single song for 4 nights a week and possible 5 months on a given tour . I enjoy their performances on Grammy shows much more as they let it all loose and have probably rested their voice (days) prior to the show.
