Got one of these this morning. Raven black . It looks good and the fit and finish is very good especially bearing edges and chroming. I am using a 6.5/14 Ludwig Acrolite black galaxy snare with it. Changed the tom heads to demo vintage A . I have a Recording Custom as my main kit but the sound and feel from the S custom is disarmingly similar. I considered the Gretsch Catalina kit and its good but Yamaha shades it slightly for quality. 3 pce shell pack has cost me 350 EUR.

Incredible drum set. I just recently bought this and I love it. Best I've ever owned. The only down side is no snare but you can buy a good one for fairly inexpensive. The hardware is solid too. Plus the drums are small and like weight which is cool.

@StarWoman87 these actually are not expensive at all..they're even cheaper that gretsch's catalina club jazz and are about the same quality,only yamaha'a hardware is far more superior than the gretsch hardware...great value for a fantastic drumkit !
