I've about decided that C64 (Sid), Amiga (Paula) and then Mega Drive / Genesis are the HOLY TRINITY of chip music.
And it's not even strictly about technical shit, but some alchemy of fresh possibilities and unique limits; they inspired the most phenomenal creativity. The vocabulary of electronic music itself would be diminished by half, if you were to somehow remove them from the historical equation.
@pawnduit Agreed, and QFT (quoted for truth). Before video game music became more instrumental, our earliest memories came from chiptunes like these. And I still don't know why this theme brings tears to my eyes every now and then. Arguably, it's just electronic signals (beeps and bops), which, to an absolute rookie / beginner, wouldn't mean much, but to the maestros who made music like this, those noises would make history! And they most certainly have, in so many ways.
This is one of the best songs ever in this game. It's so relaxing and you can jam to this...lol!! They don't make video game music like they used to anymore. It's official, I miss Sega Genesis and I miss the 1990s!
Ahhhh... This is definitely one of my favorite tracks from this awesome game! It's so damn cool and jazzy! It's almost like having a fresh breeze cool you off after winning a fight against a cholo and hearing his friends say "LET'S GET OUT OF HERE FOOS!". HAHAHAA!!
@TancerFang Of course, it's the main theme of the game. But, this one obviously has a completely different tone, and fancier melodies, some that aren't even in the original theme. What an excellent track, by the way!
Despite the Alien Cell being destroyed and Colonel Bahamut defeated, evil has still prevailed in it's mission. With the brave warriors of the HARD CORPS dead, Red Falcon will surely rise again...
@the0michman I think this theme should also be played in Hard Corps: Uprising. Bahamut is the hero in that game, and his fall from grace from his days as a war hero would make this song a fitting tribute to him.
lol when brownie died on this ending his monument is funny! Always make me laugh, that character...

If I were to ever be killed in military combat, I would want this song played at my funeral. Maybe at a slower Tempo.
