  • Brilliant song. I was a teenager in the good ol 70's and had this on 12 inch vinyl. What happened to this style of reggae? I guess it disappeared from favour as rap and hip hop took over. Bob Marly, Peter Tosh, Third World, Black Slate, Dennis Brown to name a few all had some great reggae hits around this time.

    "This style of Reggae" is known as Lovers Rock and it was exclusively made in the UK (mostly in Harlesden North London IIRC) in the late 70s, early 80s. It was very much a local, independent style that unexpectedly spawned some huge worldwide hits.
