  • I saw this show and thought it was great. Chita did steal the show but Liza held her own as well. There were some memorable musical numbers; among them being"'I've Been to the Moon and Back". There is a bootleg video on YouTube that someone taped during one of the performances; very dark and out of focus but sort of fun to watch. Has anyone noticed one of the skaters in this show went on to be cast in the role of George Costanza in "Seinfeld"? That's right, Jason Alexander on wheels.

  • Is that Scott Holmes at :24?

  • I saw this show .. it was AMAZING!

  • So was this show ever filmed or videotaped?

  • In 1984, I was a student at Emerson College in Boston and I was dating a fellow student from Staten Island. When I visited him in NYC, he suggested taking in a Broadway show. I settled on "Sunday in the Park with George"! What the Hell was I thinking??? How could I have missed this one? Thank God, I have been able to see Chita perform in recent years-she's unbelievable! But I don't think I will ever stop kicking myself for not going to see "The Rink"!

  • You didn't miss anything, you saw the much better show.

  • I don't know about that...I am a much bigger Chita fan than Mandy Patinkin's or Bernadette Peters...I am sure I saw a great show, but I would have loved this one! :)

  • @TLB1933 Settled on Sunday in the Park With George? The Rink was very mediocre despite Chita Rivera's brilliance. The score went in the toilet after the first two numbers. Chita's opening stopped the show and it was downhill from there. The book was depressing and not in an interesting way. The show was better when Stockard Channing replaced Liza Minnelli because Channing was more convincing as a daughter in her mother's shadow.

  • I don't remember this one! Shocking since I lurve Liza.

  • two divas for sure, they rock

  • Liza and Chita...two of Broadway's best at their peak.

  • They did better TV commercials back in those days.

  • Damn, I wish I had seen this show!

  • Yes. A thousand times, yes.
