I'm not saying you CAN'T make them fast, they just take SOOO much more effort to make fast versus a V8 car, which can do it effortlessly. My 406 was built inexpensively, with off-the-shelf parts, runs on pump gas with no constant tuning, and ran 11.0's in the heat, and still ran 11.0's in cool weather with no traction.
Guys i have a 1968 fire bird check my video but still its metal and very light with a ram air when they made 7 and its the only convertable it goes 208 with the stock rear end but it blew up because the engines to powerfull so i found some crap 3.78 and it goes 190 still power un modifyed

firebird ran 12.73 @ 107, the 350 ran 12.8 at 110.3 and had wheel spin all the way through 2nd (on 19" wheels meaning he has 2 inches of tire flex...notice the 350 didn't even bother warming the tires up - while the firebird had atleast 6 inches of tire flex and warmed the tires), and the 350 still trapped a higher speed. So taking just tires into consideration the 350 is faster.

If you watch the staging lights you will even see the firebird got the jump since his first staging light goes out before the Z's. HAHA your so stupid! Bottom line took a turbo for that z to run 12s idk what altitude this track is but I know of a ls1 z28 with less then 1k into it running almost 11s up here in colorado with full weight. Thats somthing that almost no other car i its price range can accomplish. 5 thousand dollar car 1k upgrades runs almost 11s at one of the highest tracks in the nation.

now watch this tho. at half track, the 350z had made up all but about 2 car lenghts.... so... had he left 2 seconds faster, he would have easily walked away from the transam.

@jugerknott09 I just got my 370z sport and love it. If you like throwing your car through the turns and driving the twisty roads I would go for the Z. Its the best bang for the buck in that department. Having said that......the ss is not as loud inside, got more room, and it would make for a better straight line car. I would say drive em and see for yourself. The Z is a street legal gocart and puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Most reporter say the same thing. good luck.

Bottom line took a turbo for that z to run 12s idk what altitude this track is but I know of a ls1 z28 with less then 1k into it running almost 11s up here in colorado with full weight. Thats somthing that almost no other car i its price range can accomplish. 5 thousand dollar car 1k upgrades runs almost 11s at one of the highest tracks in the nation.

also like to point out. that even on the late launch, that the end times were 0.12 difference.
and there was DEFINITELY a larger gap than that on his reaction time.
imho the 350 launched at the same time as the trans/bird would be faster.

lol. if you watch, and watch closely. the vehicle didn't beat the 350z it was the driver of the 350 not being to great at the TREE.... watch the beginning, watch the firebird/transam jump on the tree correctly. and notice the late launch from the 350z.
now watch this tho. at half track, the 350z had made up all but about 2 car lenghts.... so... had he left 2 seconds faster, he would have easily walked away from the transam.

@EnemyRCA NOTE that the 350z was the worst fkkn driver that i have ever seen..... Z car owners need to know that to race with the Z that you first have to stall it on your 2 RPM than you will get the best launch but also remember to turn the VDC button off before any race

@cruise30 the firebird won in this video and it means that a lot more time and money was spent. I feel good still because it means I spent less to do just as good and most of the times better. I respect 4 bangers to a degree. The 4g63 is in my opinion the best 4 banger

@KevinJrBurnstv Put the big ass 5" fart can muffler on it(good for about 300rwhp), put lots of racing stickers(20hp per sticker) and install one of those 4 foot wings on the back. The wing should give you another FULL G of downforce on the skidpad. Enjoy!

I don't understand why going in a straight line determines the overall speed of a car.

Turbo'd and it ran 12.8? A turbo on that Firebird would have dipped it into the 11's... more than likely anyways. Did the Z launch very softly? Seems like it has alot more in it.

I know of a lot of z's that run 9s.. And yeah whatever happened with the driver is on him, not the car.. I guess the GT-R is a ricer car two huh! I love muscle and imports.. My debate right now is my next car to buy 2010 camaro ss or the 370z any suggestions???

@jugerknott09 I just got my 370z sport and love it. If you like throwing your car through the turns and driving the twisty roads I would go for the Z. Its the best bang for the buck in that department. Having said that......the ss is not as loud inside, got more room, and it would make for a better straight line car. I would say drive em and see for yourself. The Z is a street legal gocart and puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Most reporter say the same thing. good luck.

I know for a fact that a T/A came stock with an LS-1 and that the 350z came with a VQ35DE and later a VQ35HR.
DE will run mid 14's stock. A good driver could maybe pull high 13s. HR will run low to mid 13's stock.
Yes, that NISMO spoiler on that Z coupled with the goofy sideskirts and rims makes it look like a wannabe Porsche. I own a Z. Don't argue. ;)
