  • You're all idiots. This movie sucked, LOTR sucked, pretty much every movie ever made sucks in comparison with the ONE GOOD ONE directed by the revered Chiodo brothers: Killer Klowns from Outer Space............ no but really, all versions of Dune kick ass in their own way and anyone that says otherwise has terrible body odor.

  • @Beclocs I agree with you!

  • good film good film to bad because i wanted the second film now

  • OK guys it's been fun, really... but how do we get down now?

  • The shovel-like-tool opened up a segment of the worm. The worm then rolls over to move the exposed part away from the sand, thus Paul is carried upwards.

  • すばらしい。好きな映画です。

    ところで、空飛ぶデブは登場しないの?

  • @circvmcellion

Well it's true, Lynch hates Dune and this is a poor adaptation of a great book, you can't make that book a 2 hour movie. LOTR succeeded where this movie failed because Jackson knew preciously the source material where Lynch didn't when he wrote his script based on 3 rejected screenplays.

I can only hope the new Dune movie gets made into 3 parts to do the book justice. This movie is a prime example of how not to make a blockbuster: Rule 1# Do Not Hire David Lynch.

  • @Johnlindsey289

Man, even if the movie did not do the book grat justice it still was a great movie. Consider the time it was made and how hard was to reproduce all that strange world and the worms, im still amazed today by how good the worms looked.

  • cool, but i dont like the black hair... like the blonde muad'dib more

  • Isn't the movie posted anywhere ??

  • @starsquid

Dune is not for everyone you know, it has a massive fanbase (The book i mean) and it is my fave novel. Lynch was a miscast director when it should have been Alejandro Jorodowksky and Ridley Scott could have been better choices to bring Dune as a movie. Do you think Dune is the same thing as Star Wars, Star Trek, Matrix and Avatar?

  • @Johnlindsey289 alejandro jorodowsky works as director? the guy i associate with "the incal" ( the german title of the epic cartoon/comic story) he would have a good sense to work out all these important details, which are usually missing when they are making movies of my fav books. not that i`m a purist but for the atmosphere and not only action-based story-telling. it`s so boring to bring down every story on this level.

  • @starsquid

No way idiot, this movie is nothing but a confusing, faustrating hair pulling and boring abortion of a movie that is still a major noodle scratcher and poor rape of a novel from a bad choice of a director. Dune is a book for thinking people and not jocks, besides i can't wait for the new Dune movie coming soon which will avoid being like this disaster. Lynch hates this movie, he disowned it and refuses to talk about it as he would walk away if you ever mention Dune to him.

  • @Johnlindsey289 You're the idiot. You cannot grasp that just because you think a film sucks, other people (Frank fucking Herbert included) will enjoy the film. That's the sad part about all these negative comments. There's no logic in them; Lynch hates Dune...thus Dune sucks? Give me a break. So what if he disowns Dune? People are still going to enjoy the film regardless. I hardly found this film confusing, and if you're such a "thinking person", this movie would make sense to you. Dumbass xD

  • Good film from a good book.

It's an adaptation, for having read all the books, I think this film is a very good adaptation. Understand that, it's hard to explain in 2 hours, the fighting technique that makes certain people more great soldier. For this reason, the director has added some widget.

  • @Letoprime

But this is the worst film of Lynch's career, he was a gun-for-hire when it should have been Alejandro Jorodosky or Ridley Scott as intended but NO it had to be Lynch who isn't a guy who does Sci-fi or blockbusters, he was suffering making this mess of a movie and it was a disaster at the box-office/critics alike. He disowned the film and thank god he went back to his own comfort zone known as independent movies with Blue Velvet, blockbusters and Lynch do not mix ever.

  • @luxuspeter

Please read the book, it kicks this dud of an adaptation in the balls.

  • @luxuspeter

Read the book please, it's much better than this awful bastardnization of a mess. I prefer the book over this overlong, confusing, and poorly made turkey.

  • Es una obra de arte

  • Comment removed

  • @luxuspeter I agree, because now to get a little atmosphere they put too much special effects without considerating dialogue or even scenario.

  • @ramening

I want you to read the book, it's ten times better than this horrible mess of an adaptation. One of the worst movies i've ever seen in my life!

  • @Johnlindsey289 I read it. It is one of my favorite, but i also like the movie a lot. Plus, the book is always better than the movie (see the lord of the ring, Harry potter, It, the thirteen floor, etc...). All you have to do is not comparing the movie with the book while watching it, though sometimes it can be quite hard.

  • @ramening

Well the LOTR and Harry Potter movies at least had respect for the novels, David Lynch's Dune-in-name-only movie was not, it was a massacre of a great novel done as a fucking Lynch movie with just gross stuff and that sort of thing. Lynch was the wrong man for the part of this movie when he isn't a fan of the books when it should have been Ridley Scott and Alejandro Jorodowsky who are fans of the novel but hollywood learned never to hire David Lynch for a big movie.

  • Sorry, I´ve meant "of" ribbons.

  • By the way: The red ribbons inside the worm had been made by condoms.

  • When I first saw The Chronicles Of Riddick trailer in the movies, I thought that it was a remake of Dune until they show the title of the move.

Well I like Dune & Chronicles Of Riddick any ways... Both are very COOL!

  • @255Knights

ANd would you also compare Dune to Star Trek movies, Star Wars, Avatar, The Matrix, The Dark Crystal, Flash Gordon, The Fifth Element, Dark City, Nausicaa and more for similar movies?

Have you even read the book? it's kick-ass stuff and way better than this butchery.
