This was lipsynched to a track specifically recorded for the programme ergo BBC copyright not WMG. How can they protest about music piracy when they behave like pirates!!!!!!!
Spoilsports? Wankers you mean. They have nothing better to do than trawl the net looking for reasons to be mean to the very punters who line their pockets.
This is more likely to sell the back catalogue, than harm it. Where on ITunes is the Pebble Mill mime to 'Winter' anyway?
had experience of warner before. pretty sure it will be them. they don't even bother to confirm whether they own the rights or not they just assume they do because the band was signed to their label. can't imagine BBC would sell rights of this performance to them so i'm pretty sure they had no legal right to request removal. thinking of issuing writ claiming they are surpressing my intellectual rights as the producer!!
Interesting. All I know is an unknown 3rd party requested the sound be removed.
I suggested in a reply to a comment that it could be UMG, WMG or whoever. It may even be the band? Who knows. Like you, I doubt it was the BBC. Well produced by the way.
I would have loved to have heard this, what a shame WMG is asking everyoen to remove the sound on YouTube videos. But this is a live performance, isn't it, or were they lipsynching?
Great song. I didn't know they did this one. Infact the only song I knew they did was 'Somewhere In My Heart' which is awesome but I think this song is maybe more interesting.
i have his 1st single on postcard records,i think he was only 15 when he recorded it! i was in a band called josef k at the time and played a few gigs with the aztec camera!
Pebble Mill at One was a little legend of a show - quite possibly so minor, that it could garner the 'fledgling' acts. But it means that these 'minor' acts were actually undiscovered giants.I still have a tape recording of Annie Nightingale playing this as her favourite song of 1983.Quarter Century later it's still as beautiful.I've NEVER seen this - didn't think it even existed.Thankyou so much.Cheers.
Absolutely. He had such great ratings, that it was THE show to be on.But because it was airing so often,he couldn't always count on the big names in music - so it would be a great oppurtunity for some unknowns to get that excellent wide exposure.
I remember seeing this--I couldn't believe how good these songs were. Thanks for posting

And they wonder why people pirate music, well done Warner - you play right into the hands of people who copy music - dick heads.

I think youtube has a procedure for disputing copyright issues of videos. Might be worth you trying that first.

Go for it... I'd like to see the corporates challenged over this kind of thing.

I produced this and to the best of my knowledge the copyright is held by BBC so I'm not sure Warner have the right to request sound removal.

Yep UMG or WMG or whoever, certainly are. Sorry I had to remove the sound.

You are right inshreds66, there are some real idiots around asking you to remove the sound.
What about all the other youtube posts for this song, why are they they still there?

If the BBC were ever to let go of some of those clips,we'd unearth a treasure trove of gems.
