This song moved me so much.... I could listen this over and over but I am afraid I 'll cry really hard. I don't know about other songs of his, but this will remain one of the most beautiful songs I 've ever heard. I like Ozaki. The sand in his voice... aaaw, I am impressed! And he is so handsome here :)))
I don't know Ozaki until yesterday when I came across his music. He is a very passionate man especially being Japanese and on top of that the music he writes is very vocal about many issues. It's as if he was inlove with someone, and it's someone he can't have because of societies rigidness or whatever the reason. The love songs, the boycotting of their ways of life. It's was a sad loss for everyone that he is gone....
Jeez, you guys are so simplistic. The fact that he did drugs says nothing about the quality and meaningfulness of his work. You judge him based on his behavior, but that's all on the surface. Music is the true window into a person's soul. I think the beauty of his lyrics should say a lot more about him than the drugs he used.
And to the opinionated idiots who are marking any favorable comments toward Ozaki as spam, there's something called freedom of expression on the web. Learn it.
hey, no matter whenever you guys take out your hate against ozaki on his loving fans or non-critics, we'll still LOVE HIM!!! And we're on the majority!

I don't know this singer, but I like this song. I just read some comments, and wow, he must be really hated in Japan. Well, I'm just going to enjoy the song.
@underthestarofnorth I've never encountered a single person who ever bad-mouthed him during over 3 years of living in Japan. I suspect one or two people have created multiple Youtube accounts and are abusing the system to slander him.
@justingaylor I'm starting to realize that. As far as I an see, many famous people in Japan have also covered his songs, and all the Japanese friends I have also hold great respect for him. I've never understood "haters" or "antifans" at all; why spend so much time on something they dislike so much? It's ridiculous.
All great singers (MUSICIANS) went thru drugs. Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morisson, Amy Whitehouse and many others, they lived really short lives but left for us great heritage!

@yokotamuneo Seems it is easy to judge, but you will never be on this place. You know why marihuana is not permitted yet (i dont try to say drugs are good), because guys who in government still can do money on that (as prices are higher). Foreigners like Yutaka for his songs, we enjoys the songs. He was drug-addicted, so what? Perhaps, every 3rd person in the world does something weird, but it is kept from public....
bullshit those whose removing comment,,,go to hell,,if you hate this singer thjen dont view him,,fuck you,,,im not japanese ,,,im pure filipino,,,but i do appreciate this singer,,,so if you dont have respect to your own self,,,DISAPPEAR,,,,,

Thank you for uploading this video subbed!
Great singer and songwriter!!! I just found out about him from a friend in facebook. Too bad he died so young, but he had a full life with many experiences until the very end (good and bad I guess)!!!
He really was an amazing singer/ song writer. I thought this song was good without the lyrics, but now that I know what he is saying I love this song even more. Thank you for sharing this video.
What a far cry this video is from what music today has become. You're lucky if you ever see someone sing a song live these days. This performance is so raw and full of emotion... The sweat pours off him and he sings with such abandon... There's no time wasted worrying if someone might be disturbed seeing the spit flying from his mouth as he pours his heart out on stage. I miss music like this. Thanks for translating it, I long for people everywhere to understand how brilliant this man was.

Wow, thank you so much for subtitling this~ I've been meaning to do so myself but I have a very hard time translating love songs. Now I'm quite glad that I put it off! Watching this makes me realize that I never could have done the song justice. You did a great job! I am happy to see a translation available here for people less interested in his rock songs and more moved by his ballads. He was a genius at both. Thank you for sharing~ <3

@Mitomenai No problem, I'm happy that you enjoy it! I'm not sure I if I did justice with my translation, the Japanese lyrics are just amazing. I hope to do 僕が僕であるために also.
@Mitomenai I enjoyed the songs & music just because they sounded as if they were supposed to mesh together. Well Japanese poetry isn't like English song-poems. Of course a translation is nice to really understand a song in it's final form. As you said it is had to catch that phrase and put it into translation. So at least in the beginning please put the Japanese words in the video. Chinese is out of the question for Western song-poems but Japanese does nicely written in Roman letters.

@omolon123 The drug which he used is methamphetamine(the most dangerous hard drug).
For him who sang a pureness and cleanness in a song, this crime is heavy.

@eruhgon The Japanese word for "forget-me-not" is わすれな草 (wasurenagusa). The character 草 can also mean weed or other small plants.
