Gee, I keep reading comments about repeating steps on various videos. Zumba is supposed to repeat the steps, otherwise your class will not only get lost but discouraged. This is for fun and exercise! If you want a pure dance class, take a specific dance class or find a studio that strictly hires pro dancers. We have one here in Seattle, and the dancing is great, but hey, I cannot follow them half the time, either. I prefer the aerobic +dance steps.

@PandasAreRaw most Zumba classes have repetitive moves.....that's how students learn the moves. If you keep changing most won't get the hang of it. You want your students to be able to do the moves by the middle of the song. No one wants the song to end and they didn't get it.....THAT'S irritating!

@PandasAreRaw No it is not silly. There is a difference between dancing for performance and dancing for fun and exercise and allowing the students to actually catch onto the steps. If you want more intricate steps and routines, then it is best you take an advanced class from a professional dancer if you want to impress others with your own routines. Most Zumba students DO NOT like getting "lost in following". Repeating steps is very important.
