  • A composer and namesake. Our names are the same, our music is very different. Well done Richard, keep writing.

    Richard Vaughan

  • @setbyserver I like your work very much! I play classical guitar (I don't usually make dance music I just did it for my GCSE) so I may start posting some of that stuff in the future. People might get us confused aha

  • Hi, i am doing GSCE music and we are also doing composition. I could really do with some help on composing a piece of dance music like yours. If there are any chords, instruments or anything else you used/recommend then please reply. Thanks!

  • @FearlessFarseer I did a bit of research on the style of dance I wanted the piece to be and listened to some examples first. If you have an idea of the main features of the genre of music (e.g 'four-to-the-floor' kick drums, repetitive loops etc for trance} it makes composing a lot easier. In terms of the actual music side, I just used a simple four chord pattern and played around with a load of different instruments until I was happy. Hope this helped and thanks for the positive feedback.

  • @RichardVaughanMusic Thanks thats really helpful! i thought i would need alot of different chords, which ones did you use, and are there any others that you reccomend?
