I had never heard this song until it accompanied the closing credits in The Adjustment Bureau. It's very hypnotic, and is something that could have been composed and performed by any number of groups in the late 1960s. And that's a compliment. Superb stuff.

seriously, if you actually listened to the verve, they arent a one hit wonder, they were very underated. listen to the whole urban hymns album and the albums after that one. they've got alot of good song. "weeping willow" "come on""lucky man" "sit and wonder" "catching the butterfly" and etc. they are one of the most underrated bands aside from the freaking awesome band radio head . ashcroft is cool, but radio head and thom is sick! but thats all I will say lol

@ray85k Perhaps but the guitar solo has nothing to do with "S for the Devil" However, there is a Verve sound to this guy, and the only "hit" The Verve had was written by Jaggar and Richards so perhaps there is a connection of some sort...but I would not claim it's a rip off, more like a similarity, in influenced by kind of thing...not a big deal really. :)
