There is no rule of law in the U.S. Of course, the poor, minorities, etc., are harshly punished for any infraction. But the rich and powerful and people acting in the interests of the rich and powerful are in effect not under the rule of law. Of course, sometimes they are prosecuted for misdeeds. But not often and generally they are not seriously punished. The "law" has become whimsical.
